Re: Rams waived S Jermale Hines
Actually, its probably pretty average.
I just can't have this discussion now if people are going to include this year's draft choices in the discussion. Too soon to tell with them.
Quick quiz: Which Rams WRs had these stats in their rookie years?
21 receptions, 272 yards, 3 TDs
16 receptions, 268 yards, 0 TDs
11 receptions, 319 yards, 0 TDs
4 receptions, 94 yards, 1 TD
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Rams waived S Jermale Hines
I'm gonna guess Isaac Bruce, Flipper Anderson & Henry Ellard. Not sure of the 4th, but I know it's not Holt cause he had a decent rookie year. And I get your point about wait and see, cause you never know, but Salas is pretty bad so far. Pettis hasn't really gotten much of a chance to succeeed or fail yet.

I wasn't able to find the last one. Point is there are many rookies that don't seem like much at first but go on to have stellar careers. But if all of them were cut by knee jerk reactions the NFL would have lost out on some terrific players and performances. EVERY player, including those that end up in the Hall of Fame, have growing pains. And some of them never catch on with their original team. Kurt Warner ring a bell? And EVERY team has their own share of draft busts. Yes, even teams like the Patriots. It just never seems that way from the outside looking in. The Lions are a PRIME example of that.

I would like to see a healthy SJAX, DX, PETTIS, AND KENDRICKS ALL ON THE FIELD FOR A COUPLE OF PLAYS THIS SUNDAY....couple that, when Danny comes back, we can only get better....
I still believe in Pettis, not Salas...lol

Re: Rams waived S Jermale Hines
Sooooo...back to Hines. The goal I would imagine is to get him on the practice squad. Not a bad idea with Stewart, Dahl and Mikell ahead of him. There just isn't an available spot for him right now, due to extra guys being brought in at corner.
Relax, folks. The season isn't three games. Every team drafts poorly at times, and on the flip side, they draft well at times too.

The four were Isaac Bruce, Henry Ellard, Flipper Anderson and Drew Hill.

Re: Rams waived S Jermale Hines
The only "talent" the cheatroits have is committing blantantly ovbvious penalties that the officials don't see. Most of the team in the NFL (including the RAMS, Bungles, Bears, Cards, etc) could have a "Dynasty" with the officiating the cheatroits have been blessed with.

Re: Rams waived S Jermale Hines
I like what I see in this post for the most part. I know some here do not like to see me consistantly get down on the Rams- most specifically for their recent drafting; but ther product is speaking for itself.
As much as many of us here like Bradford, and we cant change the past.... but in that draft I still hold firm that Suh was the better and surer choice. For any team to have drafted a number 1 pick that hadnt played for the majority of the prior year and had major injury concerns didnt make sense- no matter how much we 'needed' a QB. This year we 'needed' a major WR upgrade, but instead we chose to take 2nd and 3rd rate WR talent, and not make a move in the off season to get upgraded.
I am biased though as I am a proponent of defense, and yet again I do hold that defense wins games. Someone here mentioned we should take a CB in this upcopming draft, and here I am about to fall over and feint because we realyl need an offensive weapon to help Bradford. If im not mistaken, havent we drafted jsut over 1,983,932 cornerbacks over the past few years? I think Spags is to CBs like Matt Millen is to WRs.
And lastly, Id like to touch on S jackson. Now dont get me wrong, I like him as a player and the talent he has. However.... this guy seems to get injured a lot. And with him on the sidelines with injury after injury year after year, there comes a point to where we have to say is he helping us? Just saying.......

Re: Rams waived S Jermale Hines
Hines picked up the Colts, don't see why we value draft picks at all we basically gave that one to the Colts for Free.
We need to take the 2012 picks 3-7 this year and start shopping for proven talent that's available now.

Re: Rams waived S Jermale Hines
Am I really reading a two page thread about a 5th round draft pick being cut?

Re: Rams waived S Jermale Hines
Maybe being forced to waive your 5th round pick means you have more talent than he provides instead of saying he didn't have talent? If another team snaps him up it basically means the pick wasn't wasted, it means managing the roster may have been subpar.
