Rams Win By A Yard?
Thats what was called when Jones tackled Dyson just shy of the goal line to win Superbowl 34.
Win by a yard? Wait a minute that would have actually tied it with an extra point. Then we would have to go into O.T. What if the extra point was missed or blocked? Ha!
My point the Rams did not just win by a yard, but WON PERIOD.
Is it football season yet?

Re: Rams Win By A Yard?
I hear you. Living down here in the south I knew a lot of Titans fans at the time. They were trying to claim the game was stolen from them. Even if he would have scored it wouldn't have won the game, they never seem to get this. Much less the fact that it was a clean tackle and he was clearly short.

Re: Rams Win By A Yard?
Yeah, I could've sworn thats what happened, but we could always be wrong about that one Tomahawk

People are so ridiculous about that stuff. They were a yard short to tie it in the final seconds of the game. But we got to that point from us scoring more points...usually scoring more points wins a game. (Disregarding golf, and anything else that you guys can think of!) So in the end, we scored more, they didn't...Was the 1 yard stop an amazing thing to see and did it make it THAT much more a better super bowl? Yeah, but in the end, we're the ones with the ring. They can complain all they want with Holmgren agreeing with them :PLast edited by Varg6; -02-06-2007 at 04:57 PM.

Always and Forever a fan of the St. Louis Rams

Winning by a yard isn't as impressive as 3 feet or 36 inches.

Re: Rams Win By A Yard?
Yes, sir! We won by one yard, one tackle, one HUGE, memorable, outstanding football play that capped a great battle.
As V6 said, we had more points. And we defended that lead till the very end for the sake of the Championship. That day we were the sole and deserving team to sing --'We are the Champions my friend...'
There were no questionable calls that might have made a difference of the outcome for the Titans.
SB XXXIV ... that's just good football. :r

Re: Rams Win By A Yard?
Or we can reverse the frustration by Titans fans and say "One Yard Short".

Re: Rams Win By A Yard?
This brings up one of my proudest moments of mike martz.
When he was on Stephen A Smiths show during last year's offseason, Stephen referenced winning the superbowl by a yard. Martz was quick to say that Tennessee fans say the lost by a yard, when they really lost by 7 points.
---Awesome!!

Winning by a yard is no big deal.
So the Titans lost SB 34 by a yard.
That's no big deal, the Rams lost SB 36 by only a foot . . . Tony Vinatieri's foot.

Re: Rams Win By A Yard?
Real facts are always hyped. We won by a hair pull. A waist line prevent.
We won by a leg tackle. So we will never get straight. We we won.THE FIELD GOAL
