Rams Work out Free Agents Today

Free agents who worked out Tuesday at Rams Park included:
    DeAndra Cobb
    Ray Hudson
Both running backs and kick returners

    Fullback Nick Luchey

    Wide receiver P.K. Sam

Cobb played three games with Atlanta last year as a rookie, Hudson was in training camp with New Orleans this year as an undrafted rookie, and Luchey has been with three teams through seven NFL seasons.

I'm suprised Luchey is still out there, my family is a big packer fan, and while the Rams weren't playing I watched the Packers, and thought Luchey filled in very solid for William Henderson. Wouldn't be a bad choice at Fullback, he definately is a big man, 6'3" 273 pounds.

I remember Luchey did well with the Bengals also a while back.

Good info, but bearing in mind our recent move with Hargrove I'm surprised there wasn't a DE in there somewhere. Guess it's still a little early, but I would have thought we'd have had some possibles at that position in over another WR.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Sam a returner as well?

I'm also surprised by the lack of a defensive end on the list. Thought Luchey being available isn't entirely a shock, simply because it's tough to make teams as a back-up fullback and I don't think he's a starter-caliber player.

Luchey had flashes here and there (with the Bengals I remember for sure) but he never panned out to be consistent starter.

Re: Rams Work out Free Agents Today

From hearing many analysts and writers talk yesterday, Tampa Bay is having a "fire sale" and getting rid of talented players to the highest bidders right now. It was pretty much confirmed today when they gave up McFarland to the Colts for a 2nd round pick. I wonder who's next? Even more I wonder who the Rams might try to pick up? I wonder if they'd part with Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber, Simeon Rice, or Mike Alstott? We could use any of them, and if they are really trying to dump salaries and rebuild with draft picks in the future, I would hope the Rams would look into seeing who we could get.

    Announced by RamsFan16+:

Rams Sign One Defensive End, work out two others.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Rams, in fact, added a fourth defensive end to the roster Tuesday afternoon. Tony Bryant, who played the past two seasons for Haslett in New Orleans, was signed to Hargrove's roster spot.

Bryant, 6-feet-6 and 282 pounds, had 34 tackles and four sacks last season as a Saints reserve.

The Rams also worked out free-agent defensive linemen Carlos Hall and Chad Lavalais on Tuesday.

Sam is an interesting prospect. He was one of those "should have stayed in college for another year" guys, but he has great physical tools.

    P. K. Sam- Played at Florida State, Drafted 2004, 5th round (32nd pick) by Patriots. Last team was the Bengals, no career stats available on this guy, he is listed as a WR.

How many sacks did Hargrove have last year?
