RamsInfiniti contracted by Rams to resolve WR woes!

    And here is my plan!

    OFFSEASON -

    Release WR Laurent Robinson
    Release WR Mardy Gilyard

    DRAFT -

    None

    FREE AGENTS -

Resign current Ram WR Danny Amendola
Resign current Ram WR Mark Clayton
Sign UFA WR James Jones (Green Bay Packers)
    Sign UFA WR Plaxico Burress

Ram Wide Receivers for 2011 (No particular order) -

    J. Jones
    D. Alexander
    D. Amendola
    D. Avery / B. Gibson
    P. Burress / B. Gibson
    M. Clayton / B. Gibson

Gibson fights it out with those three WR's for a spot. The other three are set.

Look to draft a long term stud WR in 2012 draft.

Not bad, although I do prefer to draft a WR right now. Why not? This draft is filled with them. I would love A.J Green, but doesn't look like were getting him.

Plaxico Burress is a risk since he is just getting out of jail. It is a good idea though. James Jones I dont really like. He is a pretty good player but what does he bring to the table for us? He is 3rd/4th on the Packers depth chart and I'd prefer a lot of our receivers over him.

    Overall it isn't bad though.

I love it! I think Clayton and Avery can be huge after another off season with Bradford and this allows us address other needs like OG and OLB.

I wouldnt mind taking a stab at Rice and VJax, but is Plaxico is an interesting option. Could he be the new Vick? Jail apparently gets you back on the right track. Who wouldve thought?

I wrote a thing on what I would do with the WR situation in draft/FA and someone else wrote a WR thing too. They should probably be merged or something.

Anyway, I thought that you meant Julio Jones as the number 1 receiver, but I don't think James Jones has it in him. I'm not a fan of the James Jones signing unless he's replacing Brandon Gibson or something. Too be fair I don't like Julio Jones hands either.

I don't like the Plaxico signing either. He's not worth it in my opinion. Not only because of his personality, but because there's no way he will have his game legs and strength. It took Vick an entire year to get his speed back.

The Rams have an almost guaranteed shot at getting one of AJ Green, Justin Blackmon, or Julio Jones. They should pursue a top WR like Rice, Jackson, or Floyd (SD won't keep both) or 'settle' for the top 3 in the draft.

I guess everyone agrees to bring back Clayton, and Amendola, and to let Laurent walk. I wouldn't release Gilyard, but he's on the hotseat.

Mmmmm Plaxico Burress one of my old favorites. Me and Plax won many a fantasy football championships together. Would love to have him as a Ram, and Spags had a first hand look at the impact he can make in the red zone- one of our chief off season concerns. He would be an excellent consolation prize if we miss out on Vincent Jackson or Sidney Rice.

Don't see this team moving up or taking a risk on Blackmon ...

I see James Jones every week because my wife is a diehard Packers fan. He puts up very solid numbers as the backup Z WR behind Jennings ...

All indications point to him being a top notch No. 2 in this league, plus he plays in the WCO ....

We need to fill much more important holes in the draft. This lineup on WR's we can easily win with ...

I may take Plax because he shot himself, and not some one else.

I think that takes a lot of character!

Why don't you want to draft a WR, RI? I feel like it's probably THE sore-thumb need on this team right now. Clearly, we're going to need some 'backers to flank Lauriniatis and some inside linemen on both sides of the ball, but in my opinion, and as much as I love James Jones' potential, we probably should be looking to revamp the WR corps through the draft this season.

Which positions would you look to draft in place of one?

    You're fired.

Seriously.... I could not hate this plan any more.

James Jones is not an established No. 1, but to obtain him, the Rams would likely have to pay him as one.

    Plaxico Burress? No. Just...no.

But, worst of all..... NO WRS IN THE DRAFT!?!?!?!?!?!

    Seriously?

It would be one thing to say you don't want to take a WR in Round 1, or even the first 2 rounds, but no WRs at all?

    Ugh!

He obviously has one helluva threshold for pain, and his courage level is off the charts, but then doesn't he cancel that out in the area of intelligence? Just sayin'.

And I'm only speaking of the shooting incident, I have no idea whether he's intelligent or not.

Anyway, no thank you on Plaxico, besides he'll never get a vote of confidence from our front office anyway.

No, sir. I don't like it.

You said yourself that James Jones is a top notch #2 receiver, and that might be generous. However, even if he is, that leaves us without a bona fide #1 for the 2011 season. Waiting to see who comes out in 2012 in order to address the team's most immediate need does not strike me as a good idea.
