    16. Marc Bulger does not suck.

    That's a personal opinion, not a fact

No, its not. The word "suck" is far too strong to describe a QB who has had the success that Marc Bulger has had in the past. When you use a term like that to describe Marc, you are redefining a word to suit your needs. That is not a "personal opinion," its just ingorance.

If you want to criticize Marc you should (as I used to tell my kids when they were 2) "use your words." Don't just fall back on a one-word insult.

Re: The REAL facts about Marc Bulger, and one opinion

I'd say his accuracy was down significantly last year. To say this you have to discount the quality of receivers he was working with (Holt was below par and Bruce being gone) and the play calling but it just seemed that way. In previous years Marc was a top QB at throwing out routes. Literally, he was money on those routes getting the ball to the receiver perfectly. Last year that wasn't the case for whatever reason but it seemed like his accuracy was less than previous seasons. More than anything with the guy, that's what concerns me the most. I think arm strength is completely over rated. JMO but arm strength is about making up for lack of timing.

To me the complaints are similar to the Martz complainers and the Barron critics. It's something to focus the blame on and the biggest complainers are VERY unlikely to be happy with the replacement. These same people are going to give the same blame to Spags if they don't start out winning I'm afraid.

THe only problem I see with Marc is his mobility, and Post-Sack-Syndrome.
Other than that hes as good as anyone.

Re: The REAL facts about Marc Bulger, and one opinion

Marc Bulger when given ample time like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady gets is a solid NFL QB. He's not an all star anymore but he can def. play in this league still. He's not gonna wow people but he can still get it done on Sundays.

Thats what is so great about football, its a team game, you live and die by the way everyone plays on Sundays. Its not just Bulger's fault on a certain play. The Wr's need to run crisp routes and creat separation for Marc to throw into windows and the O-line must give him the avg time dropback in order to complete the throw.

For what it's worth, I don't think the inaccuracy was so much as Bulger not hitting his spots, it was moreso the younger receivers not being where they were supposed to be ...

Those routes in those Martzian types offenses must be run very precise, as the QB is throwing to a spot. Hard to tell which was more at fault ...

    FWIW ....

Marc Bulger is the 19th highest rated passer in NFL HISTORY ...

Marc Bulger is 5th in yards per game in NFL HISTORY ...

Marc Bulger is 68th in completions in NFL HISTORY despite being 86th in attempts, a testament to his accuracy ....

Marc Bulger is 12th in completion percentage in NFL HISTORY ...

Marc Bulger has the 26th lowest INT percentage in NFL HISTORY ...

Marc Bulger has the 37th highest YPA in NFL HISTORY ...

Marc Bulger's 17 come from behind victories are 13th most in NFL HISTORY ...

For those who don't get it, NFL HISTORY means EVERY QB that has ever played the game with a qualifying number of pass attempts ...

Interesting how few responses there are on a thread that insists on having a FACTUAL discussion about Marc Bulger. I guess there are a lot of bashers here who don't like facts.

Re: The REAL facts about Marc Bulger, and one opinion

AvengerRam- this fact remains,we all want Bulger to be good! We just have a hard time not remembering his lack of being able to escape or improvise when protection breaks down. Unless he works on improving this one thing he wont have any better results this year. He can accumalate yards, throw fairly accurately and release the ball quickly but can he throw TD passes when the team really needs one?

#16 made me lol, thank you. So with that, I've fixed #2.

#2. The past two seasons he sucked.

What? Is there really a difference between POOR and SUCKS? What is the definition of sucks? Answer = The Rams (and Bulger's) past two seasons.

The rest of what you wrote were correct, except #14.

It's not a fact, it's probable, but not a fact. That's like, in 1999 saying Trent Green is the best QB on the team and that is indisputable. IN walks the grocery clerk to win the Superbowl.

I don't know what is wrong with you if you say sucks after this. Because you obviously dont understand the meaning of NFL History and dont realize the greats how he is ahead of some of the greats who have played this game.

Sure there is. Adults use words like "poor" to intelligently discuss a player's performance. Children who are unable to do so fall back on comments like "Bulger sucks."

Re: The REAL facts about Marc Bulger, and one opinion

On September 10, 2006, in a game against the Denver Broncos, Bulger reached 1,000 completions faster than any quarterback in NFL history. Bulger achieved this in 45 games, two games less than ex-Rams QB Kurt Warner. Drew Bledsoe and Peyton Manning needed 48 games, and it took Dan Marino 49.[2]
