Re: Remainder Games - Predictions
Well, me personally, I would like for us to beat the SAINTS primarily, if not then the Chiefs. Beating the Hawks and Whiners and then losing to both the Chiefs and Saints is not a very good confidence booster for our team moving into the playoffs should we advance. IF we beat the Saints and either the hawks or whiners, I'LL TAKE THAT ANYDAY!!!!

Re: Remainder Games - Predictions
Wow, win / loss predictions WITH SCORES!!!
You guys are good...
Rams will probably be favored (betting line) to win only the Whiners game, so if you're a bettin' man, the Rams should go 1-3 to finish the season.
IF the Rams can pull out an upset in any of the "dog" games, I like the KC matchup myself. With Hasselbeck at QB and at their house in a season finale, I think it will be very difficult for a rookie QB and a young team with so much on the line to win. On the other hand, KC at home is much more winnable.
But this team has been full of surprises this season and it wouldn't totally surprise me if they go 0-4, or 4-0.
Ok, it would surprise me if the go 4-0.Faithful Rams fan since 1968

Re: Remainder Games - Predictions
vs. Aints
I saw brees take some shots from bengals and our defense is much better. what scares me is Meachem going deep and Reggie Bush out of the backfield, Shockey not as much. With a heavy dose of Chris Long and OJ on the blitz brees will be on the run. (he isn't as mobile as Troy Smith. Rams 27 Aints 17
vs. KC- If they win @ SD this week I can see us winning 30-23, but if they lose to SD look at them coming in hard. Here is where I worry about our star qb, if thats the case Rams 14-13 in a nail biter.
vs Whiners - Alex Smith back and the mobility issue will be moot point. We clinch the division with a solid win Rams 13 Whiners 6
vs Hags - We rest our starters and get ready for the playoffs!

Re: Remainder Games - Predictions
All we have to do is beat the Aints or Chiefs and Whiners.
Seattle plays:
on the road vs Whiners (SF 4 1/2 point favs)
at home vs Falcons (i give this win to Falcons)
on the road vs Bucs (Bucs win this one too)
at home vs Rams (We rest our starters)

1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
5. Strength of victory.
6. Strength of schedule.
7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9. Best net points in common games.
10. Best net points in all games.
11. Best net touchdowns in all games.

Re: Remainder Games - Predictions
Tails never fails... Seattle goes to the playoffs...
In all seriousness though, the next few weeks will be much tougher than anything we've seen yet.
The Saints are far from secure in the playoff picture, still battling for homefield, the division title, and still having to hold off the Bucs, Packers, and Giants for a wild card spot. The one hope is that they continue to play down to their competition, and we get some lucky breaks. The Saints should have gone into OT with a bad Bengals team, so if we can play our hearts out, we can win this game, even though we shouldn't.
The Chiefs are a dangerous team right now, with a fair defense backing up an explosive offense. Their two headed running game is their bread and butter, but over the last two months, Cassel and Bowe have been doing their best Manning/Harrison impression. The good news here is that Cassel just had his appendix taken out, but wants to play this weekend. If the Chargers can hit him hard enough, he might just be out for our game next week. If Cassel's 100%, it will be a very hard game in the dome where St. Louis fans better buy up the tickets, or else it will be even harder with KC fans filling the empties.
Then we come to our divisional slate. At this point, the whiners could either be out of it, or nipping at our heels. At worst, they'll actually lead the division, holding the tiebreaker over us. At best, they'll beat Seattle and lose to the Chargers, coming in at 5-9, desperately needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. They won a bad game of ours in their house, so I think we can certainly win this one, but if they have any hope left, they'll fight us tooth and nail.
And finally, we visit the great wet north(west) and the 12th man. Seattle has a very hard slate to finish up the season, and it would not be at all surprising to see them drop all three and out of the race. At the same time, they've proven to be as scrappy as the Rams to stay in the hunt, so winning against SF and the Bucs wouldn't surprise me either. Chances are likely that this will be a play in game, as they would probably hold the tie breaker if they win, and we would if we win. So if either team is within one game of the other, they would be playing for it all. Definitely not an easy game at any time, and even harder when it counts for all the marbles.
In the end, I think we go 8-8, dropping the next two, but sweeping the rest of our divisional slate, beating the 7-8 Hags and dropping them to 7-9, giving us the NFC West crown.I believe!

Re: Remainder Games - Predictions
Wow. The delusion is getting thick in here. The Saints are on a serious roll...5 in a row. They have scored 30 or more in every one of those games...and they have the #5 scoring defense in the league. The Rams appear to be poised for a come-uppance this weekend. A road win would certainly be a shocker and make the football world take them very seriously from here on. Reality tells me it will be quite the opposite. The other 3 games are certainly winnable.
