Re: Remembering Rams Jersey Numbers

Bruce=Goat, the number of Ram players from the L. A. to St. Louis era will be close to 900, not 700 as I had estimated a week ago.

There are 100 jersey numbers (as noted in the main list we are among the few teams that actually have ALL numbers, from 0 to 99); the average amount of names under each number will probably end up around NINE, hence, approx. 900.

Again, from the Cleveland Rams only those that followed the team to Los Angeles in 1946 are included.

See page 5, post #46. :clanram:

Re: Remembering Rams Jersey Numbers

Anyone know what jersey No. Rex Tucker had with the Rams?

Brother Ryan had No. 50 but I can't remember Rex's.

hone: "Hello? Yes, hi. Is this a Ramsfan? ...Great. How'r you doing?"

"...doing fine too, thanks. Say, do you happen to know what jersey number Rex Tucker had last year with the Rams? I'm doing a little research on this and I just can't remember Rex's number."

"Ha! ...okay, well, if you find that video and spot Tucker's jersey, let me know, Ok?"

"...you too my friend. Take care. Go Rams! -- You got it! // Bye now."

Re: Remembering Rams Jersey Numbers

The formal JERSEY NUMBERS LIST is updated today, June 18 (even though the edit note says '5 days ago'). See post #62.

Many Thanks for your help and contributions (some via PM). I'm proud to say this document is becoming a TRUE RESOURCE, given the careful and patient research of special Clan Ramfans!

There are some errors in the Rams Official web site that have been researched, corrected and placed here accurately.

One example of this, I recall, was the back-and-forth posts I encountered a few years ago with a fellow fan regarding Rams LB Mike Wilcher.

In the Rams "Official" site, Wilcher's jersey number appears as '94'. He always wore No. 54. I finally was able to prove this with other material, including action pictures. :-) For crying outloud, my son even has Mike's autograph which he wrote on a Rams calendar after a game Vs. Lions in Anaheim, Sept. 1988! He never used 94.

There are other similar errors in the Rams Web site. Not to mention that is has not been updated since 2002. Besides, the data found here is NOT to compile an "All Time Roster". The majority of players from the Cleveland years are not included, only those that followed the Rams to L. A. in 1946.

It is not a matter of I'm-right-you're-wrong information. It is simply an effort to GET THIS RESOURCE RIGHT, for the love and pride of the Rams.

I'll soon be adding some 35 more veteran players. And once the regular season begins, why, we'll have our newest Rams and rookies solemny added to the team's historic line of warriors as well!

What's in a name? What's in a number?

...The St. Louis Rams! Rampride and Thunder!

Thanks for the update. My friends will be impressed when I pass this knowledge off as my own find. Just kidding, thanks and I have learned a great deal from this thread. U and Oldramsfan are great Rams historians.

Re: Remembering Rams Jersey Numbers

Thanks MOM! LB Sam Anno is now listed under jersey No. 52. I believe you're correct.

Main list (post #62) is now updated with as many [L.A. -- STL] players I've been able to confirm, thanks to input like yours.

Now it is time to wait until we'll be able to pencil in the new Ramadditions and Ramrookies that will have the honor to don their official Ramjersey this season.

:clanram:

GO RAMS!

Smile Re: Remembering Rams Jersey Numbers

Dear Ram aficionados / ClanRam fans, :r

Alright! 1st week of November 2007. Bye Week extra activity to play with (consider it a mild therapy to help ease the pain of a pathetic 0-8 record).

Unfortunately, not every player that is accepted by a team, ANY TEAM, turns out to be a reason to be proud. I'm referring to us as fans or for that matter, the team itself. But the fact is, these players below donned our Rams jersey and even if for a fleeting moment, they were warriors in battle.

This list pretends to remember both hero as well as helper of past and present Rams teams. See if you can find a jersey name / number missing.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Would appreciate your help in updating it for 2007. Just post your player (from 1946 to 2007) and I'll place him on the list.

I'll start by adding ... under jersey number 82 Dante Hall, WR [07].

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

From the 'JERSEYS' thread initiated four years ago, this here is the main ingredient, the nitty gritty, the JERSEY NUMBERS and the PLAYERS who sported them as far back as 1946 and as recently as 2007.

Let's see if we can update the list w/names currently missing -- shall we?

We're one of the few teams in pro sports to cover ALL #s 0-99. ADD-ON! :l

RAMS JERSEYS REMEMBERED

NOTE: with a few exceptions from those that came from the Cleveland Rams era and played in L.A., (indicated by a ~, see also other symbol legends at top and bottom of list), the compilation contemplates Ram players from the Los Angeles and St. Louis teams only, i.e., 1946 through 2007.

Though "unofficial", over 95% of entries below have been carefully checked and confirmed through the research, memory and love of the Rams fans that have followed and supported their team of over half a century. NFL RAMS: history and passion!

Listed, Ram players with at least ONE REGULAR SEASON GAME.

LAST NAME IN ALPHA ORDER.

Symbols:
@. Enshrined in NFL HOF.
~. See Cleveland Rams note above.
^. Honored w/retiring of Rams jersey No. after illustrious career.
