The former head coach and defensive coordinator of the Cardinals, spent eight seasons in Tennessee, the last of which was a senior assistant coach role as Mike Munchak's right-hand man. His contract was set to expire with the Titans.

Re: Report: Dave McGinnis expected to join Fishers staff
Listening to radio and apparently he was involved with the GSOT. And us winning 99 superbowl. How you say?
McGinnis was the focal figure in an embarrassing public relations blunder by the Chicago Bears in 1999. After McGinnis interviewed for the vacant head coach position on Thursday, January 22, team president Mike McCaskey prematurely organized a news conference for the following day with local and national media to announce the hiring of McGinnis as the 11th Head Coach of the Chicago Bears. The news came as a surprise to most notably Dave McGinnis, who had not reached terms on a contract. In an attempt to save face, the Chicago Bears postponed the news conference and issued a personal apology to McGinnis from the patriarch of Bears ownership, Ed McCaskey. However, McGinnis remained disenchanted with the order of business conducted by the Chicago Bears organization and officially declined future consideration.
Apparently McGinnis had Mike Martz set as his OC. So if all that didn't happen, Martz would have never been our OC that year. He would have been the OC for Bears. Wow, the butterfly effect. Thank you McGinnis for declining that job in 99 and accepting this one with us today

Re: Report: Dave McGinnis expected to join Fishers staff
Our staff is really becoming a "who's who" of coaches.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

The coaching staff looks great. However, if we dont get better talent on the offensive line its not going to matter. Here is to hoping.

Re: Report: Dave McGinnis expected to join Fishers staff
GC, I really don't think that's the case. I think the case is that we've had a really bad line coach, if Saffold is using bad/college technique, and Smith and Brown have regressed. I really have no issue with four of our starters, and Bell is possibly now back in the system that made him a desired free agent. We need DEPTH on the line, certainly, but I'd be fine with good coaching and most of the same pieces.
I believe!

Re: Report: Dave McGinnis expected to join Fishers staff
Fisher is assembling a staff that is loaded with experience. That certainly seems to be a departure from some of the other hires we've seen under recent previous coaches, so I'm anxious and optimistic to see how that experience affects this team and organization.

Rams Report
BY JIM THOMAS STLtoday.com | Posted: Monday, January 23, 2012
MOBILE, ALA. -- Tennessee assistant coach Dave McGinnis, who has a long history coaching with Jeff Fisher, is joining Fisher's staff in St. Louis, according to league sources.
McGinnis will have the role of assistant head coach. He spent seven seasons with Fisher in Tennessee, serving as linebackers coach in 2004 and assistant head coach/linebackers from 2005-10. Following Fisher's departure, McGinnis stayed on with the Titans in 2011 as a senior assistant under new Titans head coach Mike Munchak.
McGinnis, who spent four seasons as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals (2000-2003), spent three seasons early in his career (1975-77) as an assistant head coach with the University of Missouri.
Also on Monday, the Rams made it official, formally announcing the hiring of Gregg Williams as defensive coordinator and Brian Schottenheimer at offensive coordinator.

This is the one massively good thing about having Jeff Fisher as HC. If we did get a guy like Chudzinski, i very much doubt we get Gregg Williams, Brian Schottenheimer or any of these coaches
