Report: Rams won't replace Clayton with V-Jax

The Rams are not interested in trading for Vincent Jackson to replace Mark Clayton, according to NFL.com's Steve Wyche.

Wyche's source says the Rams are "currently not pursuing" a trade for Jackson, and the team plans to "move in a different direction" at receiver. The Rams reportedly backed off their interest in V-Jax a month ago due to concerns about his DUIs. Malcom Floyd's 213-yard coming out party can't be helping Jackson's trade value or contract demands, either. Oct. 12 - 2:22 pm et

I, too, am very thankful for this front office. They could have given in to the outrageous demands of the Chargers front office and mortgaged several foundation building picks in order to bring in a guy who we won't be able to re-sign at contract time.

    But they didn't.

I concur with my friend here, 1980RAMS, in saluting a job well done.

Thank God we don't have a 'spur of the moment' front office signing random free agents left and right and paying them 7-8 mil a year .... in this case, for what ... half a season? With what we've been thru the last few years we certainly can't afford to be going after the t.o.'s (purposefully small case ) and V.J's of the world. I'd MUCH rather play it safe and grab the Bradfords and J-Laus ... and Amendolas of the world. True, maybe those guys wont lead you to the SuperBowl by themselves but it's a helluva start. Hell, were'nt we all saying 6 wins max a month ago? we just might top it. I think we're right on, if not ahead of schedule.

    Just my opinion.

    Cool post, HUb ....
If a team won their division seven straight times, that would be a NFL record. Now add on that team did it with seven different QB's in seven straight years, that record is unbeatable. To do that feat, you must of had a great Defense. Jack Youngblood was the captain of that defense.

An added reciever this offseason through FA or draft.

Added reciever (aj green / jones/ FA) + clayton resigned + avery + amendola + laurant + 1 year older gibson + 1 year older alexander.

    Thats 7 possible Wr's looking for 5.
Dont necessarily need VJ, and to give up a 2nd and 3rd, aka a top flight Outside LB and Defensive Lineman.
