Re: Richie Incognito takes his turn ripping St. Louis Rams fans
Richie Incognito piped up.
“It seems like our fans aren’t coming to the game, so it’s fun when the other fans come in and start hooting and hollering. At least someone is in the Dome yelling,” Incognito said after practice Thursday. “When we played the Giants (Sept. 14 at the Dome), they had the whole lower bowl filled up (with Giants fans). We know how our fans feel about us; that’s fine.
“It’s nice to have the other fans here. At least they cheer. Our fans get in their seats, they don’t know how to cheer, when to cheer. We get the other team’s fans coming in, and they cheer real nice for us. It provides for a good football atmosphere, having the Chicago fans down here.”

Re: Richie Incognito takes his turn ripping St. Louis Rams fans
Not a good idea to be ripping your fans when you're 2-8 and you personally nearly lost a game for your team with a personal foul.
He could have timed this a lot better.
And no I don't think he should be cut.

I'm not certain, but I think Cogs was using a little sarcasm. I still believe Richie is one of the very few lineman the Rams need on this team. Sure he has his flaws, but he is nasty, and that is what you need to survive in the trenches.

Re: Richie Incognito takes his turn ripping St. Louis Rams fans
He speaks the truth...the fan's haven't been all that supportive since the loss to New England in the Super Bowl. They just sit there...and then complain when someone does stand up and cheer.

I don't think I took anything out of context. His quote is documented even on NFL.
I will further go on and say that I firmly do not believe this team needs him.
I appreciate everyones opinion, so please appreciate mine.

Re: Richie Incognito takes his turn ripping St. Louis Rams fans
I've got no doubt he was being sarcastic but its still wasn't the best thing a player on a team that's getting spanked every week could possibly say.
Personally, I'll never understand why fans don't turn up because their team tanks. For me part of the experience of supporting a team is losing and part of the joy of '99 for example was that it came out of a background of abject failure.Last edited by Fat Pang; -11-24-2008 at 01:45 AM.
