And Rivera's choice for offensive coordinator is...
From the Chicago Tribune
Defensive coordinator Ron Rivera is expected to be on the Buffalo Bills' interview list shortly as new general manager Marv Levy searches for a head coach. Mike Mularkey resigned as Bills coach last week.
Meanwhile, Rivera remains one of three finalists for the St. Louis vacancy and will have a second interview Wednesday or Thursday. He and Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Scott Linehan are rated ahead of San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron.
Rivera, now freed from playoff preparations, will focus his attention on offense. Should he be hired as a head coach, Bears quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson is believed to be his top prospect for offensive coordinator. Fired Raiders coach Norv Turner was believed to be high on Rivera's list too, but he became the *****' offensive coordinator Monday.
Wilson has worked with Rivera the last two years on the Bears' staff.

I have to say, if either Linehan or Cameron could deliver a guy like Jim Bates or Jerry Gray as DC, I think I'd prefer that combo.

Ouch! Sorry, folks, but I don't think I'd be too excited with the prospect of Wade Wilson running the offense. If that's Rivera's choice, I'd have to go with Linehan.Should he be hired as a head coach, Bears quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson is believed to be his top prospect for offensive coordinator."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Well, I wouldnt say Wilson has done bad where he has coached. He has actually put some pretty good QBs on the field. He put a rookie on the field this year and let the rookie manage the game (unlike our offensive genius Steve Fairchild)

Re: And Rivera's choice for offensive coordinator is...
totally agree, the problem with rivera is that i don't think he knows anything about offense. linehan and cameron already know what to do with the offense and have a sense of what to do with the defense. rivera just looks lost to me in terms of offense.

What would make you say that? How would you know what Rivera knows or doesn't know about offense?

maybe because he didn't do too well in his first interview and the fact that he spent his whole coaching and playing career on the defensive side. linehan is the frontrunner because he has an idea for the team as a whole both offense and defense.

Re: And Rivera's choice for offensive coordinator is...
Rivera was also trying to prepare the Bears for a playoff game while Linehan had more time to prepare. Just because he didn't have a plan doesn't mean he that he knows nothing about offense.

Re: And Rivera's choice for offensive coordinator is...
I must have missed the part of Linehan's career where he coached on the defensive side of the ball. Rivera was preparing for a game, and Linehan was preparing for interviews. Linehan better have had the better interview,or I'd be wondering why Shaw ever wasted his time talking to the guy.
