Robert Thomas, the hit of the year!

Notwithstanding the tackles he missed again today, robert thomas delivered the hit of the year today for the rams on the third and short play creaming barlow. What a shot! Now, if he could only tackle consistently, we might have a player.

That hit was as good as it gets! I haven't seen a Ram make a hit like that in a long time!!!

PISA had two huge hits this year. One in the first game against arizona, the play on which he injured his shoulder, and one on special teams (kickoff coverage.)

That hit and play by Thomas really made me wonder, why can't he do that consistently?

    He lit Barlow up.

It was very interesting to see others in the Rams defense get all fired up by that hit, going over to RT to stir up the afterplay. Leonard Little and company.

DEEEEFENSE! Let's do it again several times for the next games. Grrrrrr! :angryram:

It was sweet to see it and they played it over and over agian for us RAMS fans to enjoy. It's almost as if Martz wanted to keep seeing it, because he attempted to challenge even though he couldn't.

Nice? NICE? It was more than nice. That hit was pure, unadulterated, evil. That hit came from the bowels of helll itself. Pure demon spawn vengance. If the Deadmen Walking have to carry the Rams through to the playoffs, then let them seek the blood and brains of their opponents through hits like that. Long live the demon dead.

    That was Ericksson.

Was it? According to the announcers, only Ericksson could challenge forward progress. Supposedly that is why the refs said the red flag was picked up, it wasn't a reviewable call for the Rams. If Ericksson wanted to challenge the spot, he could have supposedly. It was sMartz who couldn't.

I'll admit I'm not sure. But then again I'm not the coach who should know.
If only it were true that the whole point of sMartz throwing the flag was to incite the fans and rev up the team with continuous replays of the hit, then I'd be amused.

But more likely, it was another example of bone-headed strategizing by you-know-who. If what's-his-name thought that one foot was going to make a world of difference in SF going for it on 4th - 1, well that wouldn't surprise me. But, by now, his idiosyncracies are far from endearing. Rather they are just continuing illustrations that really sMartz is a package short of a full load. Of course, presuming that he was in fact the one that threw the red flag.

Apparently, after the game Barlow made a disparaging remark about Thomas and suggested that the hit wasn't a big deal. Of course, he also thought he was Carol Channing and finished the interview with a stirring rendition of "Hello Dolly."

That and the Pisa kickoff hit would have to tie for best hits so far. What I loved was the emotion that this defense finally let loose. Offense is for the chess-players, defense is for the, as Adarian would say, evil demon spawn from the fiery bowels of eternal damnation. Getting this team fired up is nothing but a good sign, if you ask me.
"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod
