ROTD: The 90s

Okay... here's the list so far:

1950s: Norm Van Brocklin
1960s: David "Deacon" Jones
1970s: Jack Youngblood
1980s: (tie) Jackie Slater, Eric Dickerson

And now... the (not so great) 90s!

I vote Todd Lyght or Kevin Carter, but I give the edge to Lyght.

Re: ROTD: The 90s

I've decided that if a player wins for one decade, he will not be eligible for the next. For example, Jackie Slater, though he played in the 90s too, is not eligible.

By the same token, if Isaac Bruce wins for the 90s, he'll be eliminated from contention for the 00s, so if you want to vote for him for the GSOT Era, don't vote for him as ROTD for the 90s.

the GSOT era peaked in '99, there's none more deserving than Isaac.
Plus it means Mr Faulk should be a shoe-in for the 00's

Re: ROTD: The 90s

This poll could go the other way:

Tony Banks
Lawrence Phillips

etc...

However, I voted for D'Marco

Agreed. Having said that, I think it's GREAT D'Marco got a vote. Think I'll vote for Flipper just to prevent the shutout. The guy brightened a LOT of Sundays back then.

Re: ROTD: The 90s

So far, I'm the sole voter for Newberry (got him yesterday). I think his name was the first impulse to vote for when I saw AV's list for the 90s. A fine guard from that era [1986-94].

:l Part of a strong Rams OL

in the history of great lineman for the Rams (on both sides)...Newberry (due to my age of 32) was the first one i fell in man-love with!

brutal, nasty and relentless, like all good linemen should be!

i however didnt vote for him,but i thought id just say that.

That's definitely good press for Newberry, Ramblin' Ram. I know what you mean. :r

Re: ROTD: The 90s

Man I didn't even see Ike on there! I hit the "Flipper" as soon as I saw his name. Torry reminds me of him and Bruce of Ellard...ah the good ol' bad days of the 90's!

As this one is a runaway, I'm going to put up the ROTD for the 00s.
