    Rotoworld reports

that Ryan will be with the Jets no later than the beginning of next week. They may still have an interview with Spags, but it seems more likely Ryan will get the job.

I expect the Rams to name their coach no later than Friday, once Spags has interviewed.

My gut keeps telling me it will be LF. Either one will be fine with me.

Understand that Rotoworld has no original information. They are merely repeating what other media outlets are saying.

I have little doubt that Ryan is at or near the top of the Jets list. If the Ravens lose on Sunday, the Rams would almost certainly have to beat the Jets to the punch to get him.

    Av,

I agree it will be LF. I just posted on another thread the rationale:
    1. He works with a Dome team
    2. He works witha 4-3 Defense
    3. He has good breeding from J. Johnson, T. Dungy and B. Ryan
    4. He's a Midwest guy, where Ryan and Spagnuolo are likely not
    5. He's worked to defend NFC teams where Ryan hasn't as extensively
    6. He represnts a vast departure from Haslett's style of coaching/motivation
    7. Strong with run defenses, our achillies heel
    8. Able to establish good rapport with players
    9. May have Chavous talking him up (providing they were at Minny together)
    10. His various teams may enable him to know coordinators and assistants that he wants to work with
    11. I think he's smart

I've added a few items that came to mind after I posted the other message. Bottom line, if he wants to come to us and the ownership matter can be reassured to him somehow, then let's go and start putting a staff together. I don't want us to be paralyzed over-thinking this. Let's select, don't settle.

    Go Rams!

This one might work against him- especially if the Rams have watched tapes of Chavous's play the past couple of years...

Cannot argue with that. Chavous has been more valuable in the locker room for his leadership than on the field.

I'm still chuckeling about the "mystery candidate" being Larry Marmie.

Do we know what he's doing? More precisely, do we care?

    Go Rams!

    Re: Rotoworld reports

I really think that Ryan will be a Jet. After all the indications, it can only lead me to believe that Ryan will be a Jet.

Spags, who knows. The guy is a hot candidate. Probably the best out there. Will he be a Lion? A Ram? Who knows! This is a rought one for teams because no one knows where he will end up.

Frazier looks like our top candidate right now.

Devaney, if you care about this team... fire the offensive coordinator!!!!

Roto World via Mike Lomabrdi also says:

Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post is "hearing" that the Rams have narrowed their list of head-coaching candidates to three.
Steve Spagnuolo, Jason Garrett, and Leslie Frazier reportedly remain. Jim Haslett and Rex Ryan appear out. Lombardi says Frazier may be "a surprise choice" for the Rams, whose defense has been laughable since Lovie Smith left.

You've got to be kidding, Garrett over Haslett ???? What has Garrett done besides coordinate his way out of Dallas ???

I would not be very optomistic about our future with Garrett as our HC.

Just the thought of Garrett still being in the mix is making me sick to my stomach. I hope this recent news isn't true!

I believe he's home preparing his speech for his induction into Canton.

    Re: Rotoworld reports

I'm hearing Haz is almost ready to take the defensive coordinator spot somewhere else, I think it was Green Bay I was hearing.
I would like him back, but I would also be very happy with LF.

I think Garrett's the failsafe errr..."anybody but Haslett" option.

    Let's hope Frazier accepts.
