Round Two: Rams Busy In Free Agency?
Round Two: Rams busy in free agency?

What do you think the Rams will/should do in free agency starting Tuesday? It looks like they're losing a lot of talent in Jackson, Gibson, Amendola and Mikell, among others. Can they fill the gaps somehow starting Tuesday and in the draft?
It's a really stiff question since the Rams have relatively little room under the cap when considering they have 2 first-rounders in next month's draft. The Rams look at their rebuild as a 3-year process; hence, last tear's trade of the No. 2 overall pick. I can envision a scenario where fans are frustrated over a lack of sizzle to augment a fairly pedestrian offense. Losing SJ doesn't help from a PR standpoint.
The best thing to do is remember that the draft and free agency are linked. The Rams are seemingly positioned to look for middle-tier value in free agency before an aggressive draft. Do the Rams improve this year by adding to a Grade B defense while trying to maintain a C-minus offense, then go more aggressively for skill players in '14, when they should enjoy more flexibility under the cap? It's fair speculation that 2013 could be a plateau year within a tough NFC West before attempting a dramatic leap in 2014. It's not a popular message, but it's certainly plausible.
Could Austin Pettis replace Danny Amendola? Sort of. Is Isaiah Pead a worthy replacement for Steven Jackson? That is a stretch. The Rams better nail free agency and the draft. A lot of talent is headed out the door.
DAVE LUCKING (moundcitysports.com):
Why not? The NFL is a quick-turnaround league, and if the Rams strike quickly in free agency, they should be OK.
That said, SJ39 and Amendola are vital to the Rams offense. Another team quickly will snap up SJ39, and Amendola is such a clutch receiver that he won't be around long.

Looks like the pressure is on the Rams front office after the ***** acquire Anquan Boldin for next to nothing considering their plethora of draft picks, and the Seahawks acquire Percy Harvin...
We need to be aggressive in getting this offense a playmaker(Jennings) or we're going to be relying very heavily on the draft to reload the rather large amount of talent we just lost.
Also, with the new talent in our division at wide out, its time to see if Mr. Janoris Jenkins is ready to step up and be the shut down corner we all saw at Florida. Its on you now buddy.
