Round Two: Troy Or Alex Smith, Who Poses More Problems For Rams?
Troy or Alex Smith: Who poses more problems for Rams?

QUESTION: Which *****’ QB do you think would pose more problems for the Rams Sunday: Alex Smith or Troy Smith?
JIM THOMAS
Troy Smith has the confidence of knowing he threw for 356 yard the last time these guys met – a high yardage total against the Rams this season. His mobility creates problems for the Rams, and although he’s not as accurate as Alex Smith, he throws a better deep ball. So I would say Troy Smith’s the bigger challenge. But at least the Rams have seen him.
JEFF GORDON
Troy Smith shredded the Rams last time these teams played. He bought time with his feet and made a series of big passing plays. Since the Rams struggled to contain Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel in the pocket last week, Troy Smith could wreak havoc again.
BILL COATS
Based on the team’s first meeting this season, a 23-20 Niners victory in OT, you’d have to say Troy Smith. He had a career day, passing for 356 yards. And his elusiveness really bothered the Rams, although they did sack him five times.
ROGER HENSLEY
I don’t think it particularly matters who the QB is for the Niners Sunday. At this point in the season, it’s time to put the focus on the Rams players themselves ... not their opponents. After all, this game could mean the difference between going to the playoffs or going home. The Rams defense needs to step up and flex its muscle. The defense must show whether or not it has the ability to control and/or contain the opponents’ offense – regardless of who’s quarterbacking the team. The Rams must control the line of scrimmage, get pressure on the quarterback, and – very importantly – they must have a strong showing from the secondary. If the QB has too much time, you can bet the secondary will be exposed. Conversely, if the line has the opposing QB scrambling, the secondary cannot afford breakdowns. Sounds pretty fundamental, right? That’s because it is.

If you watched the last meeting it should be a no brainer. Troy Smith shredded us and he did it playing catch up all night long. If he's the man, he'll come in with plenty of confidence.

I agree with this statment, and it is what the Rams need to start doing. We should have won the last game vs ***** but we shot ourselves in the foot.(4th and forever and we gave up a first, I have never said so many cuss words until that play) The Rams blow the games in the second half and it is not because of the QB, the Rams lose it for themselves and that is what is frustrating.
