Re: Rumph Cut
Good. Don't know why we picked him up in the first place. Having him on the roster made me worried that there were guys worse than him on the squad, and that wouldn't have been a good thing.

Rams release cornerback Rumph
By Bill Coats
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
08/02/2007
The first veteran has been pared from the Rams roster at training camp.
Cornerback Mike Rumph, a fifth-year pro signed in the offseason as a free agent, was released Thursday to create a spot for linebacker Larry Edwards.
The 6-2, 241-pound Edwards passed a physical exam and was to join the team for tonight’s practice.
He signed with Buffalo in the spring but was cut last week.

Re: Rumph Cut
this is odd. he really must have been lousy to get cut this quickly given the issues in our secondary without brown for four games.

Re: Rumph Cut
From what I have been reading, he couldn't cover himself. And when he wasn't actually doing a drill himself or scrimmage <where he normally got beat>, he was jawing and yapping and sluffing and goofing. Qualities I am sure are not greatly desired by this coaching staff.
By contrast, I've been hearing good things about Walls. Works hard, ussually covering well, makes good effort and is involved.Semper Fi

Re: Rumph Cut
Let's face it, Rumph was hanging by a thread since day one with the Rams.

Re: Rumph Cut
I think Jerome Carter will see some work at dime back this season; he did a decent job last year.

Re: Rumph Cut
I wonder if Brian Leonard dared Rumph to arm tackle him...
Rumph was another of those players who had potential, but never could learn to perform in the NFL.Super Bowl Champions 2013!

Re: Rumph Cut
I find this hilarious only because Channel 2 did a story on him either last night or Wednesday that he was greatly improved and looking really good.
