Saffold FULL participant in practice today
Great news for the big fella. Wouldn't count on him playing this week, but still a really good sign toward his recovery.

Rodger Saffold did a lot of standing around Wednesday in practice. That wasn't the case Thursday, when he took part in individual drills as well as 11-on-11 work.
"He was full participation," coach Jeff Fisher said after Thursday's workout.
Nonetheless, the Rams weren't in full pads as was the case Wednesday, and Saffold said he was testing the neck to see how it responded.

Re: Saffold FULL participant in practice today
He needs to sit a week, I hope he doesn't push it too hard and re-injure himself.

I am not a doctor or team trainer, but the guy got carried off the field and spent the night in the hospital. Even with it being a neck strain, due caution would tell me he shouldn't play this week.
I love the toughness though. To bad Smith couldn't be like this.Semper Fi

It really is great to hear about Big Rodg doing better! But I agree w/Swatter and Richbert.

Re: Saffold FULL participant in practice today
In Smith's defense, his problem was concussions, not necessarily toughness. Players used to "tough out" concussions but new research shows that is a very very very very very very very very bad idea. So although Smith had issues staying on the field and playing well when he was out there, let's not question his toughness because he wasn't able to play through concussions.

Re: Saffold FULL participant in practice today
Wish we had equally encouraging news about Brockers' recovery, not to mention Darien Stewart. I think they could have grown another leg in a test tube faster than that guy seems to be recovering from a hammie.

Re: Saffold FULL participant in practice today
Per Jeff Fisher on Espn.com, Saffold has a chance to play this sunday, don't count him out just yet.
