Barring a setback, St. Louis Rams left tackle Rodger Saffold expects to be ready to go Sunday when Atlanta visits the Edward Jones Dome.

Saffold left last Sunday's game at San Francisco early in the second quarter with a sprained right ankle. Lengthy treatment sessions this week have paid off, Saffold said.

"I wanted to play," Saffold said. "So I really took rehab kind of to the next level. I was here all day for a few days. With the trainers help, and especially doing what I needed to do at home, it's gotten me to where I am right now."

Another of the banged-up Rams, wide receiver Danario Alexander, took another step toward becoming game-ready. Alexander, who had knee surgery Oct. 29 to repair cartilage damage, took some reps with the first team at practice Thursday.

Only defensive tackle Fred Robbins (back) was a limited participant at practice.
