If you don't see an elite big time QB in these numbers you are missing something.
Do you think he is elite or you see elite in his last 7 games?

The throwing out the completion % about him has always been very tainted. A MIT physics professor, Walter Lewin I believe, mentioned that measurements without the knowledge of uncertainty is meaningless. His % of completions would be substantially higher if the % of drops of easily caught passes went down. He is a good QB a really good one just gone with different OCs almost yearly and the last one went Shotty decided we are going to go spread offense and throw 10 yards or less.

So being on your back seconds after the snap for a good portion of your time, having WRs consistantly drop your passes, and dealing with a handcuffing OC would make any QB look iffy. He could make better decisions work on his looking off mechanics, but overall if we are going to judge accurately we need that knowledge of the uncertainty.

    Who's numbers are those?

Sam Bradford's actual last 7 games:

    27 of 38, 288 yards, 2 TD 1 INT
    32 of 55, 352 yards, 3 TD 1 INT
    29 of 48, 240 yards, 1 TD O INT
    19 of 41, 202 yards, 1 TD 1 INT
    19 of 32, 222 yards, 3 TD, O INT
    12 of 16, 117 yards, 3 TD, O INT
    21 of 30, 255 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT

    Overall, 159 of 262, 1687 yards, 14 TD, 4 INT

    That's over 6 2/3rds games.

Projected out over a full season, that would be 4048 yards, 33 TDs, 10 INTs.

Those are more than respectable numbers - especially with the youngest WR corps in the league.

I believe those belong to Russell Wilson.

The point that Rambos is making (if I may) is that the world sees Wilson as an "elite QB", but his numbers are nothing to write home about; certainly not when compared to Bradford.
    Rambos and r8rh8rmike like this.

thanks Hub and Rambos. BTW, I do not consider Wilson elite. Elusive for sure but not elite

You may not, but many do. At the very least, he's a Pro Bowler, which is a hard-gate many hold Bradford to.

Ah... I must have missed that.

Wilson has definitely lived a charmed life in the NFL. I believe that, in last year's Super Bowl, his team was up by 4 TDs when he reached 100 yards passing. And yet, he'll be regarded as a "guy who won the big game."

Re: Sam Bradford Facing High-Stakes '14

I wonder how Wilson will adjust to life after Golden? His go to guy, and highest completion rate reciever! Life may just get a bit tougher for the lad this year, I hope we unleash guys like Ray Ray to seek and destroy him this season. I expect this to be a long long season for the Squawks! My early prediction is pain! LOL

    1. They don't repeat as NFC West or Conference Champs... If they have serious injuries as I just have this feeling they may, I don't know they even get to the playoffs! I so want to channel Jim Mora Sr. Right Now! They lost one of their best talent analysts and hoping he breaks ties to them with his plan of a new scouting agency. Would be funny if another team hires the agency away from the Squawks, going to be fun to see Petey Carroll with anguish and pain on his mugg!
(Sea Hags Rant over for now...)

Now on Topic, I have stated before I don't think Sammy has much to prove I still believe the Rams Exec Brain Trust is all go with him till at least his contract is up. If he stays healthy he will be resigned I feel that is a shoe in deal. If he goes down again I think it is dice rolling time... So even more than performance which I believe Sammy can perform at a high level when he and his Oh Line are Healthy, it is about staying on the field for Sam. imho

The games I have seen of Wilson I still have my socks on my feet. His scrambling ability is an asset but watching him play he doesn't stand out. An example of an okay QB being surrounded by good teammates and an outstanding defense.
