Sando: Quick More Polished Than Expected

Taking notes: NFC West rookie camps

    By Mike Sando | ESPN.com
    May 12, 2012

St. Louis Rams: The team has high expectations for rookie receivers Brian Quick and Chris Givens. Quick, a second-round choice from Appalachian State, was supposed to be raw. Nick Wagoner of stlouisrams.com called Quick "smooth and more polished that expected" during the first practice of camp. Coach Jeff Fisher singled out Quick's "good hips" relative to his size (Quick is 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds). The plan has to be for Quick in particular to develop quickly enough to help right away. Initial reports suggest the Rams are optimistic on that front.

This is obviously great news to hear...but i really hate these minicamp reports i remember just a couple years ago Daniel Fells was going to ascend to the status of a great TE with his speed...didnt happen

Last year Jacob Bell hired a chef and was all of a sudden considered reliable...didn happen

I tend to agree. All those years we heard that Kennedy and Hargrove were looking like they finally were going to live up to their draft potential based on what was happening in camp, and every year we were disappointed.

That said, at this time of the year, I'll take the good news about Quick, who I have a good feeling about.
