Save a little money for LA.
Now that Dallas cut Larry Allen would you like to see the Rams sign him for two or three years. I would hate to see Seattle to go after him with the hole left by Hutchinson. We would have Pace and Allen on one side of the OL and Barron and Terrell on the other side. Then Incognito or McCollum in the middle. That would be one awesome OL.
Barron 6'7 320
Terrell 6'2 343 backup Timmerman 6'4 310
Incognito 6'3 305 or McCollum 6'4 300
Allen 6'3 325
Pace 6'7 325
Thats 320 and 343 on one side and 325 and 325 on the other. We would have one heck of a line to run behind as well as pass protect.Last edited by STLRAMSFAN; -03-21-2006 at 11:06 PM. Reason: Dallas Cut Larry Allen

He is still the strongest man in all of football. I think he could still be very productive for at least two more years and I don't think Jackson would have a problem finding the hole created by Pace and Allen.

Re: Save a little money for LA.
Any rumors on the possibility of Allen being cut? And what kind of money do you guys expect Allen to be looking for?

Re: Save a little money for LA.
He isn't listed as an UFA or RFA and I haven't heard any rumors about the Cowboys cutting him. He's 34 years old but for an offensive lineman, especially interior, that isn't necessarily "old". The price to get him would probably outweigh the potential benefit to signing him.

Re: Save a little money for LA.
That would be a great pick up. The age doesn't bother me. I don't believe he has any chronic injuries, and the experience would be a plus. However, not for Orlando Pace money. Protection tackles alway get more money than an interior lineman.

Re: Save a little money for LA.
i think allen is still a very good player and should be serviceable for another one or two good years...
we only need one great year to win the SB...

Re: Save a little money for LA.
I could see Allen being effective for more than two years. Cowboy fans are sad to see him go. He would be even better playing beside a guy like Pace. Sign him and you have the meanest line in football with one of the best young backs in the NFL.
I'd love to see it done and so would Steven Jackson. Sign him for a nice contract, but not too big. He's still one of the best guards in football. The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.

I agree 100% it would be nice to have a great OL for the next two years while the three interior OL spots are being transitioned over to younger players.

All comes down to what he wants to get paid. I would suggest they make him an offer quick before other teams start talking to him.
This space for rent...

I agree, let's bring this guy on. Strength in the trenches is mandatory.
