Re: Say it ain't Suh! Players pick him over Bradford
Suh was a beast, and a pro bowler. Bradford played really well, but when you rank players comparatively totally understandable why Suh won. Neither would have been a bad pick though.

Re: Say it ain't Suh! Players pick him over Bradford
Compared to the other players at their respective positions, Suh was better than Sam was. Suh had a pro bowl year for a defensive tackle, and deserved to get the trip to Hawaii. Sam, while extremely important and crucial to the Rams' winning 7 games, did not have a pro bowl type year when compared to the other QB's... though I'd argue neither did Brees(Rodgers should have gotten the nod).
If the award was for the most valuable rookie, then I'd absolutely say that Sam was robbed, just like I consider him to be the MVP of the league, as no other player made as much of a difference for his team as Sam did, imo. Yeah, Brady did a great job cheat.. err taking care of the ball and orchestrating the top scoring offense, I just don't feel he was the most important player to his team's success.I believe!

I don't know why Rams fans are surprised by this. Bradford had a very good rookie campaign, one of the best ever for a rookie QB. But Suh was one of the best defensive tackles in the league full stop, rookie or not.

Re: Say it ain't Suh! Players pick him over Bradford
I wonder which is harder to learn as an accomplished athlete, being a DT or QB? And let's talk who has more pressure play in and play out. If a DT royally screws a play, it's penetration into the 2nd level defense with LBs and the secondary to cover. A QB screw up and potentially you're talking a pick 6. Agreed on the fact that I shouldn't be concerned, BUT it does irk me that there's an assumption that learning the position at the next level is equal between the two...

If we are going by difficulty of the position, then surely Rodger Saffold should be in consideration for the award too?

OK, people, calm down. The Rookie of the Year award that matters is at the nfl.com website. You can vote for Sam, refresh the page, and vote for him again.
NFL.com - Rookie of the Week
Not sure why the link says week - it is for the year - I verified.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
