Schefter: Rob Ryan hired as Defensive Coordinator!

The hiring of Rob Ryan may have come down to the simple fact that he knows how to CALL a game. In other words he understands what the offense is trying to do and has a better feel for down and distance and other situations.

The reason I say that is that I have read that Blake Williams made some horrific calls and none worst than in the Vikings game that cost us big time.

One of them was with the Vikes on their own 18 he plays pass and calls for a blitz and 82 yards later Adrian Peterson cruises into the end zone.

We just can't afford foolish mistakes like that. Ryan should be much better at calling the defense and making the appropriate adjustments.

I am RAMarkable and I approve of this post.


WHAT SAY YE?

Anybody who watched any Cowboys games this year knows that Rob Ryan is a mediocre play caller at best. He's aggressive to a fault, and is known for calling blitzes at the worst possible time, not to mention none of his teams have never been to the playoffs. I'm not saying he's a horrible defensive coordinator, but IMO he's definitely middle of the road. It's not all negative about him though: his players love him, he usually gets the best out of his linebackers, and he has an awesome head of hair. In the end, I have faith in Jeff Fisher and will support his decisions.

With Fisher at the head and the Rams having a great, young defense, I really don't see many problems on the defensive side of the ball.

Let Ryan do his thing and we will be fine....

Lets worry about the real problem -- offense and this signing is fine....let the off-season begin!!!

I just hope that Rob continues with the 4-3 defence of last year and keeps his mouth shut in the press. I would hate if he becomes the kind af distraction that his brother is..... And maybe a haircut would also help.

To be honest, I don't know why anyone listens to him, reads what he says, or believes his so called scoops. He gets so much wrong it's unbelieveable. When Adam Schefter breaks a news story, it's true pretty much all the time and people listen to him. When Tony Softli breaks a news story, he has just torn his newspaper.

As for Rob Ryan getting hired... I remember last offseason when some peopler were crucifying Fisher for hiring Brian Schottenheimer. They cited past performance at the Jets and said Fisher didn't know what he was doing. Well Schotty comes here, does a good job calling the plays, and the Jets offense gets even worse following his departure.

Lets just see what happens, but I trust Jeff Fisher. Anyway, having a DC has got to be better than not having one!
