Schottenheimer
Well, I'm not sold on this OC, while he appears to be serviceable, he is by no means elite. The entire design of his passing game leaves much to be desired. His plays take too long to develop and he has the WR's running routes right into coverage. It's almost as if he does very little film study or prep work. Every defense we face looks like they are leading the league in pass defense.
Schottenheimer, you've got a great young QB and these WR's are not that bad. Use their skills and design plays with routes that they can be successful with. After watching your offense for seven games it's clear that you need to step up and be creative to get this thing going.

Re: Schottenheimer
We complain about the dink and dunk offense (shurmer), we complain plays taking too long to develp (McDaniels), then we complain about the most balance offense we have had in god knows how long? Its not all on the OC, hell to me i love the play calling. We run, we throw deep, we throw short, we throw intermediate routes... What more can u ask for? Its our recievers and the o line...

Re: Schottenheimer
I agree with Fastcat our offence is much more balanced than we were under Mcdaniels last season. We are taking shots down field (the majority of which haven't come off yet - but they will) we are having good success running the ball with a patch work o-line. We are moving the chains with a patch work o-line and our top receiver out. All in all if you look at what we are attempting to do we are doing well. Our young WRs are coming along ala givens and quick a little more slowly. Our O-line is not the best in the league and still is allowing us to do things. Once saffold and wells back things might get slightly better. But once we have a more solid O-line and the receivers start getting sync with sam we will be fine. STOP PANIC and stop blaming our offensive coordinator ffs.

Re: Schottenheimer
I think he and the O is doing as good a job as we always expected considering we have such a porous line and crap wide outs

Re: Schottenheimer
I don't have a problem with the OC at all. Do I agree with all his calls? No. But hind-site is always 20-20.
What I do not understand is running 5 yard routes when you absolutely need 8 yards. The Rams are still being held back by their WR lack of experience and talent. Also, Bradford has to take his share of the blame. He has taken far too many sacks that were HIS fault. Getting chased down for a big loss when all he has to do is get rid of the ball is football 101.
Today, the Rams were just a victim of getting beat by a better team and a much better QB.Faithful Rams fan since 1968

Re: Schottenheimer
I think Schotty is doing a good job, much better than I expected. He is a master when it comes to running the ball. He knows EXACTLY the strengths of both of our RB's. Maybe we can toss him a true #1 WR and lets see how he can play with that.

Re: Schottenheimer
Hmmm....Kinda dumb on my part to write a parody to the "Bradford" thread that is currently on the board. I guess it was wishful thinking that someone around here might actually GET IT!!
Next time I'll probably be better off to join in and rip on Bradford for everything that is ailing the offense.
Where are the "Happy to be 3-4" threads when you need them.

The key words practically punch you in the face. "Serviceable", "elite", "after watching 7 games". Too funny!
