Re: Scott Linehan

"Regardless, there clearly was a sharp disagreement between the folks whose jobs are more directly tied to the performance of the players and those who are less accountable for wins and losses. And with Dorsey in nearby Kansas City, some in St. Louis surely will be watching closely the pro careers of these two players. "

I think it was a pick for need. C. Long was likley going to go in the top 5 selection anyway. I dont think him in Dorsey was that far off. Even if Dorsey was graded higher it's lot like they were miles apart.

Re: Scott Linehan

Hey the bottomline is that this draft was a solid outing. We covered all areas and also added some future stability. Whether they all work out reamins to be seen. But for now. All the picks were solid.
Offensively we are younger and better for Marc to be protected. And defensively we got what seems to be a workhorse in Chris Long.
So i think Devaney really helped setup the board for Linehan to look at.

1.) Drafting Chris Long

3.) Cutting Jimmy Kennedy

Moloch

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Moloch, Molech, Molekh, or Molek, representing Hebrew מלך mlk, (translated directly into king) is either the name of a god or the name of a particular kind of sacrifice associated historically with cultures throughout the Middle East, including but not limited to the Jewish, Egyptian, Caananite, Phoenician and related cultures in North Africa and the Levant.

The laws given to Moses by God expressly forbade the Jews to do what was done in Egypt or in Canaan. “You shall not give any of your children to devote them by fire to Moloch, and so profane the name of your God” (Lev. 18:21). [1].

In modern English usage, "Moloch" can refer derivatively to any person or thing which demands or requires costly sacrifices

ok, so moloch, do you consider yourself to be a king or a god? What is the reasoning behind picking that name?

Could you elaborate on how Moloch intertwines with your being a Ram Fan? Did you somehow know in advance back in March of last year that the Rams would have a lamentable 2007 season, which would require great sacrifice on the part of loyal Ram fans?

Thanks for the explanation regarding Moloch - I've wondered about it, but had no clue as to what it meant. Now that I am further enlightened , perhaps I'll nickname my wife "Moloch."

Thanks Mo.

So by this I have to infer that since Kennedy was released PRIOR to last season, and we hired Saunders and picked up Long AFTER last year...

...you were ecstatic about absolutely NOTHING last season.

Hmmmm....

Ya' know somethin', Mo - you may be on to something here.

What's the worst part? At least we got a little somethin' for nothin' .. Anyone remember which player Linehan selected with the pick we received from Denver?

Re: Scott Linehan

Trading Kennedy wasn't the worst part. The worst part is that one of Moloch's 3 happy moments never even happened! Now he is down to only 2 legitimate happy moments!

Yeah, that's right- we actually got something for that ton of lard. It doesn't matter what it was- we actually got something- I don't care if it was just an old watercooler and a half a roll of tape- we still made out!!! Even more to be estatic about!!!

Well, Denver released him - that should count for something.

I am a disciple of the Angry Monkey Gods.

Well, the 41 comes from Todd Lyght, who was my favorite player. But actually, Moloch has been my screen name for some time now. Years back, when I got my first dial up connection to AOL (Yes, I admit I had AOL at one time long, long ago) and was trying to think of a name, Moloch just popped in my head. Originally, I thought I had gotten it from that Anne Rice book until I was at Borders one day and saw that was actually Memnoch. So, either I got really lucky or I was being channeled by an ancient Caananite god, who desired to see his name plastered around a St. Louis Rams message board one day...
