Shawn Harrison, of the Herald Journal, reports restricted free agent WR Kevin Curtis (Rams) said his agent had some conversations with the Seattle Seahawks, but he expects to remain with the St. Louis Rams. It will become official April 21 at midnight, when offer sheets must be signed by restricted free agents. Curtis said he is working hard to stay in shape for the rigors of the NFL season. He said if he does not stay on top of his game, he could lose his job. And, that would mean letting down a growing group of fans, especially those who are into fantasy football. "Fantasy football has gotten huge," Curtis said. "I hear mostly about it from fans, wherever we go. It's funny to think about, because we are not concerned about fantasy."

    Uh huh.

Seattle fans like to talk about how great their team is, and how bad we are. If the Rams are so bad, why do they keep trying to take our players?

We let them have Marmie. What else do they want?

I just hope KC STAYS in St. Louis!

    No...NO....NO
I don't want Seattle to get Kevin Curtis. :bored:

Yes Kevin, fantasy football is big for the fans because it is a way for us to have a little control in the football world. WE get to make decisions about our own team. We are not just sitting around watching football. We don't really care if the players like it or not.

I'd be surprised if he went with Seattle, I really tend to doubt it.

Seattle can keep Marmie but I dont want Curtis to go even if it does mean we get their 1st pick. He is becoming a force to be dealt with in our wr corps and I want to see it stay that way.

    The real question is:

If Seattle offered the Rams their first round pick for Curtis (which they'd have to do to sign him) would you make that trade?

Who would you rather have... Curtis or (players who could be there at pick #30):

    Nick Mangold
    Bobby Carpenter
    Sinorice Moss
    Ashton Youbody
    D'Quell Jackson

    And many more...

    Not such an easy question.

I seriously doubt that Seattle would make that deal, though.

Not to mention with a second first round pick, the Rams would have more than enough ammo to move up into the top five to take A.J. Hawk in this draft.

Its funny you say that, because weeks ago I proposed a trade with the Jets involving a swap of number one picks and Curtis going to the Jets, and most hated the idea.

I would still do that if it meant getting Hawk.

Just let him go to Seattle. He is 28 anyways. We'd be getting a first round pick for him and could use it for more picks. Its not a big deal.

I like the the high pick and all butt K.C. is very fast and does very well in the slot or wide out spots he has proven himself as well. I for one would not like to see go to the HAGS ! As stated above I don't think with who they picked up that a #1 rounder would be a bit much ?for them to consider even though they love grabing our players.

Swapping firsts while adding a late first and swapping firsts while adding a WR are really two pretty different scenarios, though. Considering a premiere pass rusher like John Abraham was had for the 29th pick and that Curtis hardly got sniffed at all, you have to assume he doesn't carry a late first value.

I'd do this trade in a second if it meant we would be able to trade the 2 firsts to get Hawk.

    Oh what a dream.

Re: Seahawks | Team spoke with Curtis' agent

For Hawk, maybe....if all that worked out.

I would look at this more from Seattle's perspective. What do they need? They did pick up Burleson, but is that there only move?

Sure there is some talent in the bottom of the first round, but they are on the SB track right now and perhaps could justify improving their team by bringing over Curtis vs. some unknown in College. Plus, at 28, he's still young enough to play for 4 or 5 years and see how many SB's they can make a run at.

I just think that you can't just say "Is Curtis worth a 1st round pick?". You have to say "would Curtis help Seattle win games, and would it (again) hurt the Rams if they took him away from our offense."

Yes, and we would be gambling on a late first round pick, or use it to move up. Still would hurt us to lose him. Especially if Bruce of Holt went down at any point.

1st Round #30 Pick or Kevin Curtis...........Thats hard to chose....... Isaac Bruce still has 3 years or more....and Torry Holt is still young......Im not sure what to chose, but lucky I dont have to make that decision
