Seasons over...who is back and who is gone...and who do we add
Now that the Ram's season is toast, and it ended on a good note BTW, who will be gone from the team that is currently under contract, up for a new contract, or is a FA out there somewhere in the league that you would add?? I am curious as to the opinion of the Clan...
:l :l
Re: Seasons over...who is back and who is gone...and who do we add
I will be back next season.
Re: Seasons over...who is back and who is gone...and who do we add
I would like to see some depth at O-line. Those guys took some time to gell and eventually got better, but we can't have a 2-3 game stretch with a ton of sacks.
Maybe a big, run-stopping DT in the draft or FA.
Re: Seasons over...who is back and who is gone...and who do we add
I think that it is unanimous that Butler is gone. Do the Rams try to keep "fan favorite" Fisher??
Re: Seasons over...who is back and who is gone...and who do we add
Butler and fisher go bye bye, bartell moves up, we sign napoleon harris, (no way we can afford briggs), draft a big physical WR, to take curtis's spot, bruce still has much left in the tank, sign a big DT that can take up multiple blockers, o-line depth. Re-sogn buler and mcDonald, and hopefully we would be able to sign londen flecher if we can't get harris

Said this in another thread so I'll just copy and paste... :)
Fisher's a free agent and there's no reason to keep him unless he signs on the mega cheap. He'd at best be the dime corner on this team right now with the way Hill and Bartell are playing and with Brown basically cemented in as a starter.
If the Rams trade/cut Butler and let Fisher walk, they could try to use a safety like Chavous or Carter as their dime 'back. They could also draft someone on the second day to fill the role. Or they could sign another free agent. I'm not a big fan of his, but Phillip Buchanon could get a look since we'd only expect him to play in the dime and he'd bring potential as a return man.

Me too! Yay! lol
Fisher has nothing here for us anymore...He's definitely a goner.
Re: Seasons over...who is back and who is gone...and who do we add
My suggestions haven't changed since the beginning of the season. We still need a bigger, better front four on D, FIRST AND FOREMOST. Strengthen the front line, and you strengthen the team overall. Kennedy and Glover are not the answer, so I would look to replace them in the interior, and find another monster threat on the outside. DB's will instantly look better, LB's will too, if you can put some pressure with the four up front. ...and speaking of LB's. We need a real MLB. The spoon gave it his all, but didn't quite cut it, IMHO. I don't know who's gonna be available, because quite frankly, I don't spend a lot of time worrying about that. I let the Rams staff do that, since they won't listen to me anyway. :)
Secondly, some depth on the OL. Also, I'd try to resign Curtis and move Bruce to number 3 and promote Curtis. Sorry Bruce fans, but I think he'd be better served as the number 3 at his age and years of play. He's been a great warrior, but you gotta put fresher legs in there. As others have said, Fisher is a goner, as is Butler. I'm not too keen on F. Brown, but he's servicable at the right price. Bottomline, we need to spend the bulk of our $$$ on D linemen and a MLB. We must do better on defense next year if we expect to improve. We have the offense to play with anybody, but we absolutely have to improve our run defense. So that's where I expect the majority of changes to occur.
Oh, and I'll be back but will request a substantial pay raise... :)
Happy New Year to all my Ram friends. :l

What? WHAT? Curtis can't hold Bruce's jock strap. I don't think anyone else in the NFL will offer Curtis a big contract at his age, so we should keep him cheap. If he holds out for a big contract, see ya. Bruce's contract hit to the team and his production at the end of this season has demonstrated he must stay. I agree he is a third receiver normally at this stage of his career. Maybe we can get a diamond in the rough through the draft like Colton of New Orleans.
We need to focus in free agency on offensive line and defensive line. Draft, we need to continue our quest for defensive help both on the line in depth, linebacker, and secondary.

Sorry but you don't put Bruce who caught 74 balls for 1098 yards at the number 3 spot. There is nothing that suggests that Bruce isn't our best option at the #2 WR spot.
We don't need to overpay for Curtis who is going on 29 years old either, if he comes cheap we keep him, if not we don't.
Re: Seasons over...who is back and who is gone...and who do we add
coakley wont be back. I would like ranaoll smith back, along with Turk of course. I would like kacyvenski back if possible as well along with probably stephen davis. I want timmerman and mCcollum back for depth if for no other reason than that if they retire, it costs us money in bonus acceleration to lose them. I would also like steussie back on the cheap.
I want big fat lard ass claude terrell off the team and i am confident he is gone along with fischer and butler.
ramming speed to all

I hope you're right, but there are plenty of teams that could use his speed in their receiving corps (Detroit, Minnesota, Jacksonville to name a few) and I wouldn't be surprised to see someone offer him a lucrative though not unreasonably high contract.
Personally, I don't think he's going to break the bank but he's not going to be cheap either. Regardless we should try to resign him if only because I don't like the idea of breaking in another slot receiver.

Need to take Leonard little off that list,
I would keep Dexter Coakley, he has done good for a backup and a starter the past few games, except on that Pass Interference against the Vikings
Rams need to resign turk because it took the Rams this long to fine a good punter and I do not want to see another rookie punter
