    Setterstrom Holds His Own

I was watching Setterstrom throughout today's game and he did not dissappoint. I was quite impressed with his blocking. For a rookie he had a very good first outting. We may have just seen one more piece of the puzzle put in place right before our eyes. The line as a whole did much better than I expected they would.

    Good job guys!

    Go Rams!!! :l

I hope so, it was only one game so we can't get too excited yet, but hopefully he is for real.

    Nice game by Set today.

settersom played a solid game your right, but i truly think that terrell is a sold guard that could step in next year and start right away

terrell may have physical tools, but i have seen no evidence of any kind to suggest that he has the maturity or commitment to be a starter. The job was his to lose and he came in badly overweight. Unless he can get himself into nfl shape, there is no shot that he is going to help us. I hope you are right rams bruce, he has size and some strength, but he has to show the maturity to put in the time in the offseason.

Our Line is shaping up nice for next season

    Pace - Incognito - McCollum - Setterstrom - Barron

With Stuessie - Terrell - backing them up

We will also have the option of Incognito at center and Terrell at left gaurd.

    Re: Setterstrom Holds His Own

The whiner's defense has played very well the last few games, which has accounted for much of their success during their three game winning streak prior to today. Not to mention they were facing a battered Ram's OL. As a whole, the OL played surprisingly well today considering all the obstacles.

Lets hope Mark Setterstrom & Co. repeat today's performance next week.

I'd leave Incognito at center. He is doing well there. I'm not so sure McCollum and Timmerman will be back next year. If they are it may be in a backup role. In any event, I think its critcal that we shore up the line in the off season through FA and the draft.

It was a welcome relief to see them pull together as good as they did. When Cog went down and out for awhile I was very nervous. For a patchwork line they played pretty good together.

I agree, when Incognito went down I was very nervous. For the most part, they held together pretty well.

    Re: Setterstrom Holds His Own

The O-line definately impressed today, it is often said that the line depends mostly on how well the five work as a group, and that proved true today as these guys just outplayed the niners defensive front. I'm anxious to see if Setterstorm can play even better next week against the Cards.

Agreed, let's see if he can keep it up over multiple games.

    Mark Setterstrom played well

    Mark Setterstrom, who unleashed a
devastating block that sprung Jackson on a 36-yard touchdown gallop in the
    second quarter.
That was a hell of a block and SJ for the first time took one to the house from deep!!

    The future looks bright...IF:

We get a blocking fullback (these must be hard to come by).

    Ditto the tight ends (ditto)

Watch a good team block. I know alot of you hate the Pats, but the guys fight each other to make a block. Do you teach that or draft it?

    Re: Setterstrom Holds His Own

i think you teach it and draft it. However, its rare to find guys that do both well. Klop shows terrific hands. He made another excellent catch yesterday. His blocking however is beyond awful. I noticed walker in the game a lot more, i think that is for his blocking.

As for fullback, one of the reasons its tough to find a good one is that many teams dont want to allocate the cap to that spot since they are not typically every down players.

Great start to an NFL career by the S-Man... Hopefully he can build on the experience and make it another solid game against a pack of cards.
