Should The Rams Back up Jackson???

If jackson gets hurt,(God Forbid) do we believe in pittman or leonard? Should we go the way of the draft (since its a deep draft at that pos.)or Free Agent?I like Chris Brown Of the Titans !( FA)! Also thought we should've went after Ward of the giants but they resign him for 1 million dollars!(FA)Draft R.Rice,K.Smith,S.Slanton,M.Hart! I think building up the OL is Great so we can run the football !!! and this we help our Def..

I don't see the Rams looking at the RB position before the 5th round of the draft, and then it would only be if they are looking at a RB/KR kind of player.

If we can sale the 2nd overall pick then maybe we will have the luxury of extra picks and maybe draft some depth at RB.....

I agree with Av, I don't see us going after a RB until the late rounds if at all. There are too many holes in the defense and we have two RB's, a swing RB/FB, a FB, and a special teamer. Runners are easy to come by so I figure we could either go after a vet on the junk pile or get some undrafted guy to come in like Samkon Gado if we needed. I would have used Willie Parker, but he was actually targeted by the Steelers before the draft.

    SJ
    Leonard
    Pittman
    Minor

is depth enough for me...how about a hammer of a fb to open up lanes for them?

It would be a dumb move. Sure he gets injured, but it's a part of the game. Look at the progress he makes when he's in the game. He missed 4 games and still managed to get over 1,000 yards. He's our franchise RB.

I say fix the offensive line, and maybe he'll be a top tier running back.

Hey, I agree with you on having a FB to help open lanes, especially against 3-4 defenses, but Uhhhhhhhhhh....................
I think you've forgotten who's coaching this team Ramblin.... Rams intentionally got rid of their FB's. Personally, I'm in favor of a having a pounding FB in the backfield instead of a TE, but until SLOP has it's way, I don't think it's gonna happen.

Was an article written not too long ago, (I think AV wrote it) talking about certain play styles which favor H-backs over FB's. you might find it interesting. Cheers!

As for the depth, I'm a fan of Pittman so I'm okay with it for purposes of FA. I vote for grabbing a guy in a later round and sticking him on the practice squad for development and reserve purposes. Or I guess Rams can look for some TE's who can run.

    go rams.... :r

Our brother from up north has a point. If Chris Johnson and his FASTEST FORTY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! would be the best thing since sliced bread, imagine what we could do with the best back in the draft who's only slightly slower, but has much better developed SKILLZ!

I vote no to anything but a back with high upside late in the draft or even after. How about Mike Hart from Michigan in the sixth?

If Kevin Smith falls to the 3rd or 4th round, he certainly would be one I couldn't pass up. His running style reminds me of Dickerson.
