Should the Rams retire Holt's number?
After Holt retires in a couple of years, do you think the Rams should retire his number 81. Even though it has been rough the past 2 years he did give us 10 amazing seasons and played a huge part during the GSOT years. Whats your take?

No. I think if we are going to retire anyones number right now I'd have to say number 28

Re: Should the Rams retire Holt's number?
See I've been out of the loop for so long I didn't hear about Marshall, eventhough I watch alot of nfl net,or age is getting to me and I forgot. Isaac should be next.
So what about Dickerson? I know Big Red would agree, that is if 29 hasn't been retired yet and I didn't remember. My heart beats crazy and my blood runs wild

I wonder why Jack Snow isn't on that list.
I know we cant retire the numbers of every great Ram because we wouldn't have any numbers left,But Jack should be on that list.My heart beats crazy and my blood runs wild

Re: Should the Rams retire Holt's number?
Faulk's number 28 was retired--QUITE RIGHTFULLY. Holt's #81 should be retired eventually for the many years of top of the line numbers that he brought to the St. Louis Rams.

Re: Should the Rams retire Holt's number?
In a word...no
Henry Ellard's number isn't retired either and I think he was better than Holt

Re: Should the Rams retire Holt's number?
I agree with most of you, you can't retire ever player's number that does well. There are so many retired Rams that have done just as good as Holt if not better & their number is not retired.

Re: Should the Rams retire Holt's number?
I've said this before, and I still believe that the next number that should be retired is #80, in honor of both Isaac Bruce and Henry Ellard.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Should the Rams retire Holt's number?
It's tough... my immediate gut reaction is "of course". Retire Holt and Bruce's numbers together and hang them side by side because they were a deadly combination.
But my brain says wait a minute... Have they meant more to the team than Pace, Little or Warner. Surely we can't retire 6 numbers(Faulk's number is already retired) from one great but brief time in our teams history.
If it's allowed as a team I would probably not retire it yet but I wouldn't assign it to anyone new. Let's see what the next several years brings us.
Besides I think there is already a petition circulating to retire Curry's number when he is done playing for the Rams.
