Sick of hearing how Washington beat themselves ....
Because you know, the Redskin's were beating themselves when they took advantage of the early fumble inside our own five and scored a touchdown ...
And also, you know, when their offensive line gave up four critical sacks, had Campbell running for his life half that day, and were so scared to death on pass protection that they had three false starts, AT HOME ...
And also, you know, when Adam Carriker batted that pass up into the air and Pisa made a very direct, clean hit to knock it free, and OJ Atogwe, who always seems to be around the ball, took it to the house. All luck right? I wonder how it would be viewed if the 'Skins did that?
And the Redskins, you know, beat themselves, considering the Ram's had MANY, MANY stupid penalties that kept this from turning into a Ram's blowout of the Redskins ...
And the Redskins, you know, beat themselves, when Bulger hit Avery on a clutch first down, then on another deep pass, setting up Josh Brown's fourth FG, yet, you know, Brown just got lucky off course, since one of his 50+ yarders hit the goalpost ...
And the Redskins, you know, JUST GOT BEAT! AT HOME! But when the Giants rolled us at home, it didn't mean a thing? Redskins fans were quick to point out how we sucked. HAHAHAHAHA!Last edited by RamsInfiniti; -10-13-2008 at 11:36 AM.

Re: Sick of hearing how Washington beat themselves ....
Fans often talk about beating themselves, but it is never as satisfying as beating someone else.
Wait... I think that may have come out wrong.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Sick of hearing how Washington beat themselves ....
The 'Skins definitely had a part in the loss. To say they didn't make some really cruddy plays would be inaccurate. However, I do hate when everyone claims thats the only reason we lost. We lost because the Rams showed up and played better football than the Redskins. That's all there is to it.
The Rams beat us.

I think everybody says they beat themselves because they didn't play like they did in the first 5 games of the season.
However, the reason why they didn't play like they are used too playing, is because the rams showed up and whipped ass. However it was always there game to lose from the get go. and they did.

Re: Sick of hearing how Washington beat themselves ....
The Skins weren't who we thought they were.
They had 5 games under their belts with no offensive turnovers. As I said in a couple of different threads before the game. "The law of averages will catch up to them" thankfully it was against us.
GO RAMS!!!!
COWBOYS are next!

Re: Sick of hearing how Washington beat themselves ....
Sheer brilliance. They weren't who you thought they were why, because the Rams won?The Skins weren't who we thought they were.
Skins had won four in a row beating NO, Ari, Dallas, Phil. Those four teams all had top offenses, and the Redskins held them all well below their season averages. I won't even mention back to back road wins against Dallas and Philadelphia.
The Rams came in here and won. They played well. But face it, a fumble recovery for a touchdown was the only thing you did. A fluke fumble at that. And don't forget about the two gimmee picks Landry and Fletcher dropped.
Skins offense rolled up 368 yards. Portis did whatever he wanted to do all day. Yes you did get excellent pressure against our backup right tackle and our left tackle who sprained his knee early in the game.
Bulger had what, 130 some yards passing? Jackson 79 yards on 22 carries?
Congrats on the win, it was a big one. Your defense played well. They capitalized on a crucial turnover, and they deserved to win. But the Redskins are EXACTLY who we thought they were, one of the best teams in the NFC.Last edited by Johny Utah; -10-13-2008 at 05:25 PM.

Re: Sick of hearing how Washington beat themselves ....
Everything the OP said is the definition of beating themselves.
If anyone hear reversed the roles, the Rams would feel the same way.
BTW, JC wasn't running for his life, there were misques as pointed out by Zorn today. If our offensive line was so bad, why did Portis have a field day.
Good job Rams. They took advantage of their opporuntities.

Yes I been hearing that all day on espn but you know what I don't give a rat A$$. We were playing them on the road and were nearly 18 points dogs. They lost it don't matter. The NFL is not going to put fluke beside there L. The fact is they expected to beat us by 4 td's and now they are looking for answers.

Re: Sick of hearing how Washington beat themselves ....
They didn't expect to beat you guys by 4 td's, but they were definitely overconfident. It showed on the field. They didn't flip the switch until the 4th quarter, and by then it was to late. Hell Portis even said in the post game that they were overconfident.
They just looked flat to me personally. I knew it was going to be hard for them to keep up the intensity that they've shown the last month. Despite what some people on this board think, most Redskins fans were extremely wary of this game.
Like I said, the Rams should feel great today about a very nice win. Anytime you can win on the road in the NFL you should definitely be happy.
