Hopefully we get some good news in the next 48-72 hours!

Mike Silver is tied closely to Coach Fisher, he seems to have the heart beat on the story, Rams sources have gotten very quite.@MikeSilver
It is very much a two-team race for fisher right now. Dolphins did their job. Now it's the rams' turn at the plate.@MikeSilver
Fisher doesn't care about having a stud qb immediately. This is not a short-term commitment. And he doesn't love bradford anyway...@MikeSilver
He cares about having a committed, aggressive owner who wants to win and will let him coach the way he knows how. That's the biggest thingI would suspect Kroenke qualifies as an aggressive, committed owner who wants to win, but that's simply speculation on my part based on what I've read of Kroenke's reputation. The almost off-hand comment that Fisher "doesn't love Bradford anyway" is interesting as well. Trying not to read too much into that, but I wonder what Silver means exactly.@MikeSilver
Miami is in the lead but st louis is stepping into batters box, could be a hell of a gameLast edited by Nick; -01-05-2012 at 01:25 AM.

Re: Softli: Kroenke to meet with Fisher tonight & Thursday
SSSWWEEEEET. Lets get this guy wrapped up so we can move into finding a GM and then establishing whether or not its safe for Sam to keep rading his playbook or should he dump his head of all of last year's knowledge.

Re: Softli: Kroenke to meet with Fisher tonight & Thursday
Nick, I was literally about to post this considering I have been the resident scoop dropper. Thanks for beating me to it!
In all seriousness though, I have said this from the start of our off-season... Kroenke's main goal must be to not let him leave without a contract. As always happens during NFL Free Agency, you never let your main target leave without a contract. The fact that Miami allowed him to only set us up to hire him. Given, we need to fulfill the Rooney Rule, but I suspect that could be simple. I actually feel quite bad for the people interviewing strictly due to the Rooney Rule. These coaches actually do deserve the opportunity to become NFL head coaches, but often are just used at patzys for an organization to hire someone else. And I suspect we will be doing the same..
But thats not the point, I hope to be the first to post Breaking News: Rams Hire Jeff Fisher!
Come on Stan! Give us some good news for the weekend.

@AlbertBreer
I still think there's little question that the Rams are the front-runners for Jeff Fisher. It's going to be an interesting couple of days for sure!@AlbertBreer
... Talking to folks who know him well tonight, too, they said he's pretty savvy, would totally work to create leverage.

I hope we get this done so we can get a GM and start evaluating this draft class so we can have a solid draft.

Silver expanded on the Bradford comment, saying Fisher doesn't dislike Sam but just doesn't LOVE him.

Re: Silver: Kroenke to meet with Fisher tonight, Miami still in the lead
I was looking over his history/pedigree and I actually really like that we are attempting to interview Todd Bowles. I think he would be on the short list of my fallback options. I want Fisher at this stage as much as the next person, however as they say the show goes on. If we don't get Fisher I am still confident we will find the right person to fix this mess. Just hope it is Fisher. But I do like Bowles' background, a lot. Also had 3 games to prove himself and went 2-1 w/ the only loss being a 3 point loss to NE.
The game vs Miami is going to be quite interesting next season. We will either have Fisher, who spurned the Dolphins to come here. Or we will be playing against Fisher, who spurned us to go to Miami.Last edited by THOLTFAN81; -01-05-2012 at 04:15 AM.

Re: Silver: Kroenke to meet with Fisher tonight, Miami still in the lead
Im taking a bit of guess, but it looks to me like Josh McDaniels is definitely in play for HC, if the Rams do not get Fisher.?? Y-I-K-E-S. The Miami Dolphins seem to be just as interested in Fisher, as the Rams are. So I think it is far from a formality that we nail him.?

Re: Silver: Kroenke to meet with Fisher tonight, Miami still in the lead
That does make sense. My take is that JF respects our Boy Bradford, i.e., being positive about the Rams star / multi-million man "but" that he also is not expecting miracles as in being crazy for the young QB.
Putting words in both Fisher's and Silver's mouth, I'd read between the lines, "...the Rams QB [potential?] is great and everything, but then there are all other areas / players I need to look into as [possible] HC, not just Bradford. You gotta keep in mind that the success in improving Rams results does not rely solely on their QB".
That's okay, Coach Fisher, that's okay. Let's get you to sign then we'll talk Bradford.

If not Fisher, i want the Chud from Carolina. i know hes another coordinator, but coordinators are going to be our only option unless we go after Sherman as well.
When do we interview Bowles? cant hire Fisher till we do.
