Since I am new I may as well stir something up.
First of all I want to say that I am happy with the Rams decision to hire Jeff Fischer. I think he will get the most out of his players.
Secondly I want to say that the following comments I will be making have no constructive value to them and could arguably be considered unnecessary. However since I am new here I may as well stir something up.
Thirdly I do not know if this has been discussed since the hiring of Fisher and I am going on the assumption that it has not.
OK you know where I am coming from so lets get started.
Rams fan that actually follow the Rams (which all you ClanRammers do and why I chose this website) will remember the following and some would rather not rehash this.
Well let's do it anyway as it promises to upset your stomach, cause you to bang on your keyboard a little harder then normal and possibly even say a few choice words about me for resurrecting such a debacle. However if I can not express this here on what I consider the best Rams forum available, then where?
I am going to recall the 2000 season and the absolute slap in the face Rams fans were forced to take by one player who's mutiny sent ripples into all aspects of the defense.
This player admittedly quit on the Rams and was benched for it. The Rams ended up rehiring their former DC for half of the season in hopes of reining in this insubordinate defense.
Oh you do remember?
In 2000 our offense scored 7,456,371 points Our defense allowed 7,456,370 points. OK those numbers may not be correct however it was a shut load of points.
I may be wrong on the names here however I am not going to go and confirm this because it is the trivial part of it. Bruce and Warner signed contracts which if I recall were 5 year 40 million dollars. Faulk signed the same contract the previous year. Kevin Carter was offered the same contract in the same year and he said it was an insult.
Todd Lyght was given the franchise tag either that year or the previous year. The cumulative result of Lyght's and Carter's depressed state of accounting caused them to corrupt the defense as a unit. Ernie Zampeeze said: (and I paraphrase) "These guys are running around doing what they want on defense." "Nobody is doing their job."
Kevin Carter did not make any secret about his quitting on the team. He admitted that he did not care.
He quit on his team mates and as stated sent ripples throughout the defense. Todd Lyght in the off season was running around bad mouthing the Rams to anyone that would listen according to the Stl PD. Look it up yourself if you do not remember.
It will be recalled that after that wasted season Kevin Carter was dealt to the Tennessee Titans. It will also be recalled that Jeff Fisher was the head coach at that time and he could not keep from brown nosing Kevin Carter. Kevin Carter ended up signing for the same amount that Rams were offering. 5 years 40 million dollars.
Even with all the whining Carter did and his destroying a season in which Rams fans had waited 60 years for, the most disgusting thing was said by Jeff Fisher in the media blitz after the Titans signed Carter.
A reporter asked Jeff Fisher: "What about Kevin Carter admittedly quiting on the Rams?"
Fishers Response: "Well it was one of those things where it was not the Rams fault or Kevin Carters fault."
In case the significance of Fishers answer escapes you allow me to translate it.
Jeff Fisher said that there is a time when it is OK to quit on your team!!
Any response is fair game unless you hurt my feelings. LOL

Nah,
The true meaning is lost in your translation.
I'll have to hand it to you though, that was one of the nicer preludes to nothing that I have read in quite some time.
Welcome aboard!

Re: Since I am new I may as well stir something up.
Of course Jeff Fisher is going to be ok with a player on a different team quitting!

Re: Since I am new I may as well stir something up.
Um... in that "wasted season" Kevin Carter had 10.5 sacks.
Nice theory and all but.... no.
Welcome to the Clan.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

reminds me of that scene in One flew over the Cuckoo`s nest with the group therapy and the guy is talking about catching his wife cheating on him and when they get to the bottom of it,he saw nothing really.

So as not to offend anyone, AND to make this statement more true to the point, and less piling on, I submit this alternate version, Besides politicians,I've never heard anyone say so much and say so little....
While our current president has learned the art of side-stepping, I really don't think any of us believe that the VAST majority of our elected officials don't suffer from the same malady.

Alrighty then.

I look forward, however, to your next swing.

Hey,
If you really want to stir it up around here you could do so with much less bravado and only two words:
Bradford sucks
Welcome aboard
