No reason we can't have both. I'm more than happy with our new bigger receivers, but I'm a little concerned that we've lost that one speed "burner" (Curtis) that can really fly. Speed is good, and without a doubt the fast pace offense that Martz prefers is entertaining to watch. Although our old habit of turning the ball over and forcing throws was maddening, to say the least. All-in-all though, I'd prefer a smash-mouth, "stack 'em up and see if you can stop us" approach. I think it's a better approach in the long run. But, why not have the ability to do both?
The Rams are that team, I think. We can run through them with SJ, or we can throw to him just as successfully. We have size in Bennett, and enough speed with Holt and Bruce to keep them honest. Personally, I believe this Ram offense can be better than the '99 squad. Maybe not more yards, or more long plays, but this Ram offense is going to be a hand-full for opposing defenses. Nobody will want to face us.
...now, if we can just get someone to tackle.
