I'd say Donnie was the only real snub. The others deserve consideration, but you can't say the other guys who did make it don't deserve it either.

I would say that would work if you were just handing out awards, but for a game it is supposed to be fan favorites. Fans want to see their favorites, so they get them. Of course, no one really watches the pro bowl, so they should just eliminate it and announce teams at the end of the year, in my opinion. they won't as long as it makes a profit though.

Don't forget some players are going to pull out if they go to the Superbowl, so there may be a chance for some Rams to sneak in.

Brees has seem to become the NFL golden boy,everyone loves this guy,he threw some really stupid passes last night ala Brett Favre who I guess has passed the I can do no wrong torch to Brees.

No doubt in many cases it IS a matter of popularity. Years ago, NFL seasons past, there was more merit and truth to the Pro Bowl selections.

Nevertheless, I find it interesting and gratifying that Jax made it despite having an off year as measured by his potential. Imagine if he would have had more 100 yard games, a couple of 200 yarders, more TDs.

SJackson is among the NFL elite RBs. If only the Rams could provide better OL blocking. Next year, watch out.

You could argue that James Hall got snubbed as well. He has 49 tackles, 10 sacks, and 6 forced fumbles. Its debatable but is that worse than 50 tackles, 8 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 ints?

Hall had 1 less tackle, 2 more sacks, a 1 more net turnover than Julius Peppers. If he had the name that Peppers had than I think he would have been the guy that made that final slot.

Peppers was a force on that Defence and the reason the Bears are the first to win their Division. They played better opponents than we did.

If Halls name was said as much as J Lauriniatis I would agree with you, or Long's for that matter. It pees me off that they didn't make it.

AS for Drew Brees, he is a field general where we just have a QB. Sam is pro bowl caliber ready and I see him being there next year if we win as many or more games next year. I am proud to call myself a Bradford supporter.

Spot on post. The only thing I need to know about the legitmacy of the pro bowl is the fact that despite being only the second punter in NFL history to average over 50 yards per punt, Donnie Jones got the snub of all time after the 2008 season.

That said, I'm sure it's still something the players see as an honor, so I'm happy for Jackson, who is more than deserving.

Very well deserved by Jackson. His effort this year has been tremendous! Even on those short gains you can tell he is giving his all.
