Exactly what I was thinking tx. "IF" this story is true one of the 4 pillars has crashed and burned!
I hope this isn't true.

Just when you thinks things are looking up....we get knocked down a peg again....
Well guys, Expect another 3 win season....If he's convicted, he's going to be out of the league for at least a year, and jailed or on probation.
WHYYHYHY?!?!?!?!!?!?
Perhaps we can trade Jackson for some picks before he gets ran through the mud too much?
He won't be suspended merely for being accused. If that was the NFL's policy, then Ben Roethlisberger (who was accused of rape in a civil suit) would not have played this year.
There are a lot of unanswered questions (apart from the obvious "did he do it?"):
1. Why did it take so long to file a police report?
2. What is the nephew (the alleged witness) saying?
3. How did TMZ find out about this (was it deiberately "leaked")?
4. Will a civil suit soon follow?
I don't think ayone should jump to conclusions at this point.
I meant if he is in fact guilty. Regardless if we'd want him to play for the team, he'd be suspended at the least (obviously).
Also, here's an update from stltoday.com...

CBSSports.com and TMZ.com reported today that a former girlfriend has accused Rams running back Steven Jackson of assaulting her when she was nine months pregnant, according to a criminal complaint she filed with the Las Vegas Police Department.
CBSSports.com reported that the girlfriend, Supriya Harris, told police the assault occurred during an argument in March 2009. She said Jackson repeatedly pushed her to the ground and that she suffered bleeding from her wounds.
Harris says in the complaint that she gave birth to her son soon after the alleged assault.
According to TMZ, a celebrity-focused website: Jackson took Harris to a hospital to be treated for her injuries, but asked her to lie and tell doctors she was injured when she fell in the shower.
TMZ.com also reported that Jackson and Harris have been arguing over child-support payments, and that she recently asked a judge in the case to force Jackson to make payments.
Jackson’s hometown is Las Vegas. He has played for the Rams since 2004, and this past season was the NFL’s second-leading rusher despite playing for a 1-15 team.
Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo released a statement on Jackson:
“We are aware of the situation involving Steven Jackson. We are in the process of gathering information. We are always concerned with issues involving our players.”

Its on every site I visit it seems, ah man this is freakin horrible.
I agree with you guys in that we will have to wait and see what comes out but this is just awfull. For all our sakes (as true Rams fans) I hope this story is crap, but there is ALOT of smoke, for there to be no fire.
If it is false he should rake her over the coals for slander.

Uh-oh.
Per TMZ:
...Not good.Quote:
TMZ has obtained a photo of the scar Steven Jackson's ex-girlfriend claims she bears as a result of the alleged attack at the hands of the NFL star.
As we first reported, Supriya Harris filed a complaint with the Las Vegas Police Dept. yesterday accusing Jackson of beating her up while she was 9-months pregnant with their son in March 2009.
In the complaint, Harris claims Jackson smashed her into a door handle so hard that she bled "heavily" and needed to be hospitalized.
So far, Jackson is still not commenting on the incident.
Ive said it once and ill say it again... EVERYTHING happens to the Rams.
This totally screws up everything. The draft will have to be changed....our best player could be done.....
Well, let's hope for the best. I really hope this is all wrong but it certainly makes me nervous.
The thing that kills me is the fact that this will take awhile for any clarification and all I want to know is if it's true or false so we can move on from this.
Not much to add that hasn't been said. If it's true, it's dispicable and I want no part of him. BUT, I'm not gonna get worked up over what could be a bitter gold digger looking for revenge and a fat cash settlement.
Things working in her favor: 1. She mentions that the nephew was there, this could make or break her case, and if untrue the nephew could easily step forward and deny (or lie..).
2. Gives an account of what happened and uses quotes (nephew).
3. She's a woman.
Things working against her:
1. She waits ten months to come to the light about this. This gives the impression that either she and Steven broke up and she's pissed (child support) or something not as severe happened (shouting match, Steven shook her or something) and she has decided to blow up and get some money out of him. It could also be that she was scared or intimidated
2. As a doctor or nurse, it is your duty to report to the local police department any wounds or bruises that signal physical abuse. The lack of this happening doesn't help her case.
3. She used the old " I slipped in the shower..." lie...bit too generic for me..
This could easily be a bitter woman looking to slander a celebrities name and for a pay-day. Or this could be genuine and Steven's a woman beater...
Either way doesn't bode well for the rebuilding Rams and even if Jackson is acquitted he'll have to join the ranks of Ray Lewis and Leonard Little of football players who are at the butt-end of bad jokes about how they killed someone or is a woman beater.
His name is forever tarnished whether fair or not..
