SLOP is not dead, but...
The Scott Linehan Opposition Party lives.
We still have our concerns. Will Linehan do a better job of gameplanning and remaining flexible on Sunday? Will his hiring of "friends" pay off? Will he show the ability to bounce back when things start going badly? Time will tell.
That said, as the founder of this Party, I make this pledge to you all.
SLOP will remain silent until (1) the Rams are eliminated from playoff contention, or (2) the season ends, whichever comes first. Hopefully, there will never be a reason for SLOP to appear again. Hopefully, the team will show the kind of improvement I believe it is capable of showing. Hopefully, Scott Linehan will make SLOP eat all if its words.
But for now, SLOP is still out there.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

If history is any indication we should be fine. One thing will change this year we make it into the playoffs.Time will tell.Last edited by HUbison; -08-27-2007 at 01:10 PM.

Re: SLOP is not dead, but...
There are a few criteria you must meet before being able to join SLOP.
1) Can you create controversy where there is none?
2) Can you ignore facts to create your own conclusions?
3) Can you let your love affair with Martz cloud your thinking on any new head coach?
4) Can you ignore the good and magnify the bad qualities in a person?
If the answer to those 4 questions is yes, then you too can be a member of SLOP.

Re: SLOP is not dead, but...
Boy, someone really wasn't paying attentionlast year.
1) I did not create the controversy. A big losing streak, blown opportunities and questionable playcalling did.
2) Hogwash.
3) Love affair with Martz? Do a search of my threads on Martz. I was hardly his biggest supporter.
4) Again, when SLOP was born, there wasn't much good at all.
To answer the question, if you want to join SLOP, send a check for $100.00, payable to CASH (Coalition for AvengerRam's Summer Home).

Re: SLOP is not dead, but...
8-8 with a new HC, horrible D-Line, young O-Line, and new systems abound? What exactly was everyone expecting last year?

Re: SLOP is not dead, but...
Break it down for us, what do you not like in practice so far?It is what we expect this year now, and what we're not seeing thus far in the pre-season...

HEY , I EAT SLOP FOR BREAKFAST , the rams will be back , this will be a good year , we won't go through that big slide , they have made great improvements , just compair last years roster in the coachs first year and who he brought in to this years roster . only the players can make this team great . let's hope the rams are not the 2007 paper tigers .

Re: SLOP is not dead, but...
Av, I don't like this statement:
Maybe I am just a bit over the edge here, but why would S.L.O.P. be silent all season?SLOP will remain silent until (1) the Rams are eliminated from playoff contention, or (2) the season ends, whichever comes first.
It seems to me that the Scott Linehan Optimism Party would be born of the ashes of S.L.O.P., since I am sure fans everywhere who doubted him last season would want to jump on the bandwagon if he leads our Rams to a 10-6 record.
You know me, I believe the glass is half full, even if it's poisonous.Super Bowl Champions 2013!

Tell you what...
If the Rams win 10 games, I'll officially and permanently disband SLOP.
