So........all of the RAMs picks are signed?
Mailbag: Only three draft picks unsigned
June, 1, 2012
By Mike Sando | ESPN.com
If only the NFL's current labor deal had been in place when Andre Wadsworth, Chris McIntosh, Michael Crabtree and so many other rookies from current NFC West teams missed valuable training camp time.
Teams no longer must worry about draft choices failing to report on time while their agents hammer out complicated contracts. It's a huge relief for coaches in particular.
Only three NFC West draft choices remain unsigned with nearly two full months remaining before training camp.
Receiver Michael Floyd (Arizona), receiver A.J. Jenkins (San Francisco) and cornerback Jamell Fleming (Arizona) will almost certainly sign in time. Seattle and St. Louis already have all their rookies under contract.
This might seem like a roundabout way to get into an NFC West mailbag, but Raymond from Oregon gets the credit/blame for the idea.
"With the reports of some first-rounders signing, what team has signed all their 2012 draft class?" Raymond wanted to know. "I thought I saw that the Seahawks had all theirs signed, and yet I've heard no tracking or reporting on that."
There's little tracking or reporting because it's a given teams will have their choices signed when it matters. ............
Not that getting them signed on time is a big deal (for reasons listed in the article), but is there any other confirmation of this? I ask because I've been reading that the RAMs are one of several NFL teams that hadn't signed a single draftee yet.
I am interested because I like rookies and players under a new coach or system getting their off season work in. Last season was a disaster in this regard.
Re: So........all of the RAMs picks are signed?
The only one i heard we signed was our 7th rounder Brown. and before that Snead saying they'd work on signing them soon. Guess with the new CBA draftee's getting signed isnt that big of a deal these days.

Rams sign draft picks Givens, Brown to four-year deals

The Rams have signed WR Chris Givens, their fourth-round draft pick, and LB Aaron Brown, a seventh-round pick, to four-year contracts. Givens and Brown are the first of the team's 10 draft choices to agree to terms.

This is a strange blog post by Sando because as Rambos pointed out, only Givins and Brown are signed. Something is getting lost in translation here.
Re: So........all of the RAMs picks are signed?
Rams signed seventh-round RB Daryl Richardson to a four-year contract.
Durability and the jump from D-2 are Richardson's biggest question marks, but Rams coach Jeff Fisher has a history of success with sub-200-pound running backs and Richardson landed in a terrific spot. He's the favorite to open the season as St. Louis' No. 3 back, behind Steven Jackson and fellow rookie Isaiah Pead. Richardson goes 5-foot-10, 195. He ran 4.47 at the Abilene Pro Day.

Rams signed fifth-round OG Rokevious Watkins to a four-year contract.
Watkins was a college tackle, but the Rams will try him at guard in training camp. They have an open competition at left guard. A 6-foot-4, 328-pound mauler, Watkins will compete with Bryan Mattison and Rob Turner, among others.

Yeah Mike I was looking to see how long the deals where and could not find anything until now on Rotoworld...

Thanks for the info Rambos. I'm still trying to figure out why Sando said all the Rams rookies are under contract. Still several guys not yet signed.

Sando needs to take his head out of the sand!

Sando's explanation:
Quote:
How routine have rookie draft-choice signings become under the new labor agreement? So routine that I mistakenly thought the St. Louis Rams had already signed each of their picks. They are in the process of signing some of them, as Howard Balzer notes in a series of tweets. I keep a file with all the signings and must have checked the wrong team's column Friday. In any event, Seattle has all its picks signed. San Francisco has all but one signed. Arizona has all but two signed. It's a big upset if any of the 2012 draft choices remain without a contract before training camp.

Do late round picks usually get four year contracts?
