i read somewhere the other day;by chance really it was part of an article i was reading,dont remember which one,anyway i was always under the impression that our retired numbers were as follows-

7-Bob Waterfield
74- Merlin Olsen
78-Jackie Slater
85-Jack Youngblood

on the article i was reading it only had the first 3!
im only really bringing this up because of Klopfenstein not having a number yet and 85 being a much used number for TE`s and admittedly WR`s,have i been wrong to think they retired Youngblood`s number or was the article??

Jack Youngblood's jersey, No. 85, is retired -- as it should be. :bow: A remarkable DE!

Also retired, No. 29, worn by 'Eric the Great' and 78, one of the NFL's all-time best OTs, Jackie Slater. All of them members of the Hall of Fame, of course.

Klop will likely be 82, its the only 80s number not taken or retired

however he might be trying to get 89 off Dane Looker, because that was his college number

I forgot to add, only 59 out of the 50s is free, and so McGarigle and Alston are probably deciding between who gets that. Its possible Alston might end up being a safety though, so that might be whats holding up his number choice.

True. If Dwight Anderson doesn't make the final roster, Hill could switch to 20. Or 22 if Fisher moves on. I'll hold off on ordering my jerseys, methinks.

I agree. I'll Pre - Order one during Preseason when the numbers the players are wearing are pretty much official. So I don't buy one now and then have the player switch there number while its being shipped.

i dont think number 85 is retired yet cuz in my Madden 06 game, i created another jack youngblood and number 85 was available and he domenates!!! and ill tell my dad not to order that hill jersey scince someone said hes number might change after mini camp.
