Some things never change...
Sean Salisbury weighs in personally:

Quote:
The biggest issue for St. Louis now wasn't an issue a week ago, and that's at quarterback. I would have said the Rams would contend in the NFC West, but I think Trent Green's injury will cost them five or six wins this year.
Green has great accuracy and understanding of the game. That injury devastated the Rams as much as any in the league. I'm not saying he's the best quarterback, but what he meant to them was so huge. They go from a competitive team to one that might struggle to win six games. It's not realistic to expect much from Kurt Warner. Joe Germaine might end up as the starter this year.
A .500 record should be their goal, but I don't know if that will happen now.
Salisbury's take: pre '99 season. He was clueless then as well. It can be argued that no one knew what Warner was going to do, and they'd be right, but Salisbury was a QB, and I doubt he did his homework.

Salisbury is nothing more than a talking head currently.
Don't buy the hype, the predictors only seem to get the Patriots and Eagles right because they are legitimate good teams.

If someone actually took the time to record everything these talking heads say and then check them post-season, I'm sure many of them would need to improve on their record as well. Salisbury is the king of it, though. I remember listening to him last season to open things up, bashing Drew Brees relentlessly, and then through the season when Brees was lighting stuff up, Salisbury made it sound like Brees was his boy all year long.

He's confident and definitely becoming a "mark my words" prognosticator!

Good catch(es), Vegas.

Funny you bring this up. Tonight on NFL Live he was asked if Mike Martz was on the hot seat and denied it saying he *ehem* liked Mike, and the Rams have a good shot at winning the division.
We have a flip-flopper amongst us.
