Apologies to Brown, Sayers, Sweetness and Sanders, but you will never see a smoother runner in your lifetime.

    .... Ever!
If a team won their division seven straight times, that would be a NFL record. Now add on that team did it with seven different QB's in seven straight years, that record is unbeatable. To do that feat, you must of had a great Defense. Jack Youngblood was the captain of that defense.

IMO, the greatest pure runner in NFL history, and the most exciting. He was literally breathtaking to watch.

You know funny how things stick with you throughout the years... But most memorable comment I remember from those days was made by an ex-Cowboy. Dandy Don once said I believe on a Monday nite show about Eric D. " He Just Runs Pritty " with his accent. Now on the surface it seems like just another accolade till you think about Don Meredith the man the myth. He knew about pretty as well as anyone of his era! He wore pretty fur coats dated the prettiest babes around football. Had a bit of pretty about him as well and listened to Howard Cosell every day who created some pretty amazing comments of his own! Looking at it in this context and as I never heard Don say it about anyone else it was a huge comment! ED has always been my fave running back not just as a Ram, with for pure enjoyment and excitement Barry being a close second. They were always worth watching and giving up sometime to!

Hmm, can't say I ever knew! Now you got me wondering. But that stride, long, fast - what a gallop!

Love those uni's. Research suggests that Dickerson ran a 4.4 40.
A defeated look of consternation, dissappointment, or even pain. The name derives from the look one often gets when challenged by a large BM.

To put it in perspective, Adrian Peterson is a poor man's Eric Dickerson! Yes, ED was THAT good.

I was facinated by the linemen, Slater in particular. They just dominated an all star Dallas defense.

Serious. Hill, France, Saul, Harrah and Slater.
ED deserves all his accolades, but that O-Line was something else.

ED was the best pure runner that I ever watched play.

As my Pic suggests-- Im an avid Dickerson supporter. Apologies to Faulk, but no one since ED and Sanders really merit super hero style running IMO. All the current all-pro backs really do not display, nor blend the running style that Dickerson had. No one really had the fluidity and grace, coupled with immense power like Dickerson had. How many RB do we know that ACTIVELY sought out Ronnie Lott downfield to purposefully run him over as revenge for taking a big hit a couple of plays before? Dickerson is the best RB Ive seen play.
