Sportsline has us Ranked #18... Huh

    http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/powerrankings

    18 St. Louis Rams -
The offense will be explosive, maybe even as good as 1999. The defense will make for a lot of track meets.

Jags ahead of the Colts, Raiders at 8. I can't believe you kept reading after that.

Not much credibility in a poll that ranks the Cardinals #11.

I was in Vegas a few weeks back and I got the Rams at 50-1 to win the SB. I put $50 on it. It was at the Venetian. Most casinos have them at 20 to 1.

Not sure what they're thinkin over at the Venetian, but I'm feelin pretty good about my 50 to 1 team.

I know it's fun to look at these polls and see where someone thinks each team ranks, but the fact is the difference between the #1 NFL team and the #32 NFL team isn't great enough to really warrant a meaningful ranking system. In college, it's a different story. The top players go to the top schools, the middle players to the middle schools, and the bottom rung players are at the bottom rung schools. It's easy to rank college with some consistency. However, in the NFL the small sample of players are all top-tier and sorted fairly homogenously between all 32 teams. That's why the Dolphins in their worst season in franchise history can still beat the SB Champion Patriots.

That's why polls will never look right in the NFL. There's just not enough segregation of talent for a poll to be meaningful.

LOL Rawk, you are without question one of my favorite Hawk fans. Even though we disagree on both football and politics, you're good people in my book, pal.

#18 This guy needs to retire. I will take the odds they will go deep into the playoffs.
