St. Louis Rams’ Steven Jackson won’t make trip; to see specialist
By Bill Coats
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
When the Rams’ flight to San Francisco leaves this afternoon, Steven Jackson won’t be on it. Jackson, who sat out practice again Friday, is scheduled to see a specialist here in an attempt to learn why his strained thigh muscle, suffered Oct. 19 vs. Dallas, isn’t responding to treatment.
Antonio Pittman will start at running back Sunday vs. the *****, with Kenneth Darby and Travis Minor also expected to get some work in the backfield.
Tackle John Greco, who suffered a knee injury in practice Thursday, will miss a day or two. His left kneecap popped out of place briefly, but no damage was done.
All for now . . . more after practice.

Let's hope Haz politely explained to Darby how important it is to hold onto the ball...or beat it into him.

Man thats a bad thing for us. We really need Jackson out there and we are seeing the result.
Too bad for Greco also. I would like to see him in the line up sometime soon...

This might be real bad. Missing 4 weeks with a bruise? Something doesn't sound right. I hope this isn't more serious than we knew before.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!

I know it's spill milk but I was concern in the spring when we did not draft a RB. I notice some teams has a one two punch now. With SJ injury history we should have been prepared.

I think it was reasonable to hope back in the spring that Pittman or Leonard or a combo of the two could provide serviceable back-up for SJ . Who would you have given up to draft a RB who would have clearly been better? Long? Avery? The rookie OLers?
Not much point in trying to generate a one-two punch if you have the legs literally taken out from under you.

This is devastating. I love Steven Jackson and I positively don't think he's a slacker in any way, shape or form, but he has a pattern and history of getting banged up that is distubing. Like Truth stated, let's hope this isn't something really serious.
The Rams are cursed when it comes to keeping players healthy. Is there a single player on offense that has been even relatively free from injury the last few years? The situation is absolutely rediculous and extremely frustrating.
