    Steussie at right guard ...

    Steussie at right guard
    By Bill Coats
    ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
    Thursday, Nov. 22 2007

Todd Steussie's first practice in almost three months was only minutes old when
he lined up with the first team at right guard. Barring more shuffling on the
injury-muddled offensive line, Steussie probably will start there Sunday vs.
Seattle at the Edward Jones Dome.

"He was good," coach Scott Linehan said. "It was like he hadn't missed a snap.
He knows the system, so he's really confident in there."

The Rams have used 15 line combinations this season. Steussie, out since
suffering a broken foot Aug. 30, said his return to the Rams — he could have
signed with any team in the league in the interim — was solidified as the
    injuries mounted.

"This is my 14th year and I've never seen so many," said Steussie, who will
turn 37 on Dec. 1. "Usually you have to go into your second line once in a
while, but to go into the third line and then have to pull new guys in ... it's
    been pretty amazing."

Before taking the field at Rams Park, Steussie met some of his linemates for
the first time. "We had to introduce him to half our team in the offensive
meeting, because they're all new guys since he was here," said Linehan,
    exaggerating only slightly.

Steussie, who started 15 games for the Rams last year, reached an injury
settlement with the team Sept. 5 and re-signed Tuesday.

Did you ever wonder how many $$ the Rams have paid to O-linemen this year?

Hopefully our offense will only get better by this move. We'll need Jackson and Bulger to have good games this week, and that will all start with how the O-line plays.

Great news that Steussie will be back in the lineup for the Rams. The timing is perfect with the Seattle SeaHawks coming to town. Steussie's Veteran leadership and experience will be needed and hopefully he will help give Marc Bulger the protection needed to have offensive success this Sunday.
    Welcome back, Todd Steussie!

    Injury report

    ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
    Friday, Nov. 23 2007

For the first time in a month, center-guard Brett Romberg got in a full
practice Thursday. Romberg, who suffered a high-ankle sprain Oct. 21 at
    Seattle, was enthused afterward.

"Everything looks really good; that's the best it's felt, by far," he said.
"This was the biggest (test), being in pads, being able to put a lot of weight
on it, really pushing a guy. And it went well."

Defensive end James Hall (ankle) sat out for the second consecutive day, but
Scott Linehan said he would practice today and should be available Sunday.
Tackle Alex Barron (neck) was limited after skipping practice Wednesday.
