Re: Is Steven Jackson the Most Talented RB in Ram's History?
Dickerson, Faulk, and Jackson are talented in their own ways.
Dickerson has a huge body while being able to run really fast, Faulk has that amazing ability to make excellent, synchronized cuts to deceive defensive players, and Jackson fights through those extra yardage meaning it takes 11 guys to stop him.

he`s great..but the greatest in our history ? i`ll leave that to the people who have seen every RB in our history play.
i`ve followed the Rams since ED`s rookie year so i`ll only comment on those...i`d rate Jax 3rd behind Faulk & ED tho..so for me...no, he`s not the greatest RB in our history.

I will say Dickerson is still the most talented. He was in a similar situation as Jackson, no passing game, and he put up his 2000 yard season. Although Jackson is second.

dickerson's production was insane and faulk is one of the best players in nfl history regardless of position in my mind. jackson is basically right there with those guys but i wouldn't put him above them.

I remember watching windell tyler fumblitus. ED was a beast, but none was as exciting to watch as Faulk. SJax is also a beast but more of a workhorse. Hopefully we can get some weapons at wr to help SJax establish himself as the best. Will be fun to watch. He has had flashes of greatness, just wish he was the benefactor of a stellar offensive line.

I wasn't around for Ed but I have seen a lot of him and stuff. I think S.J in my mind is the best. There is no player that will ever be like him. Sure Faulk was unbelieveable and I though he was a top 10 running back (all time). Ed was also amazing but S.J has hit 1,000 for the past 5 seasons. He is the only reason we had a team these past few years.

Heheh, I was digging through some old videos I made in YouTube and here's one of them dedicated to all 3 RBs.
It's times like these we learn to live again...

Re: Is Steven Jackson the Most Talented RB in Ram's History?
It's hard to even decide who is better between Faulk and Jackson...
Faulk was the better receiving back... BUT Jackson proved a few years ago he is great catching passes as well!
Faulk was faster and more agile, but Jackson is the definition of grit.
And then bring in Dickerson... ahhh!!!
There is no way I could decide which one is better. Jackson does have one advantage however... he still has a chance to build on his career and show us he is the greatest.

It doesn't get any better than Marshall Faulk from 1999-2001 as far as I'm concerned. And from watching those Dickerson highlights it doesn't surprise me that he fumbled 14 times in a season with the way he was holding the ball.

Re: Is Steven Jackson the Most Talented RB in Ram's History?
I watched Dickerson from day one with the Rams, Faulk starting with San Diego State and Jackson from his time at Oregon State. All three were/are incredible backs, but Dickerson was simply breathtaking to watch and virtually unstoppable. He was a once in a lifetime back in an elite group that includes the likes of Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton and O.J. Simpson. I love Jackson, but he just does not rise to that level IMO, yet.

Re: Is Steven Jackson the Most Talented RB in Ram's History?
Wow, that is a great video. It reminds all of us how lucky we've been to have some of the greatest running backs in the history of the NFL on our team.
To me, and I've seen them all in person, I'd say the most talented was Faulk. He could do everything, catch, block, run. ...and a very smart football player.
The best pure runner was ED. Man, he was fun to watch. But Jackson is equally powerful, if not more so. Probably not as fast, but a beast in the open field. It was a shame ED never had a great QB to go along with his skills. Imagine how many more yards he would have gotten with a good passing game.
It's impossible to pick just one of them. As someone already said, they're all great backs, with different skills. You can't go wrong picking any of them.Faithful Rams fan since 1968
