Steven Jackson Packing 4 STL: Could Be Great Sign on Lockout Article (No Link)
In a tweet sent by Steven Jackson on Saturday, July 2, he is packing and preparing to move back to St. Louis during the upcoming week. Without reading too much into it, this is a potentially good sign in regards to the chances of a labor agreement being reached by the end of next week.
Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk is one of many reporting growing optimism that a deal could be struck by then.
In addition, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello tweeted today that lawyers continue putting together language for a possible agreement, sharing it with the players' association through a variety of methods.
Well established teams with veteran quarterbacks such as the New England Patriots and Tom Brady, Pittsburgh and Ben Roethlisberger, the Colts and Peyton Manning, and Rodgers and Green Bay could be at an advantage entering a season where the offseason has been shortened.
Teams implementing new offensive or defensive schemes, (like the Rams, with new offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels), or those with young quarterbacks, (like the Panthers, with two young quarterbacks in 2nd year man Jimmy Clausen and this year's top pick, Cam Newton), could possibly be at a disadvantage in many regards.
Individual work with coordinators, (both on and off the field), reps with the offense (or defense in other teams' cases), time to build chemistry with receivers, and team work in installing new offensive plays and schemes, among other things, has already been reduced.

Makes sense, given that the Rams are scheduled to play in the HOF game.
