dramswin13 - we think this guy might be a whiner fan
Still all about the money for Eric Dickerson

Hey everyone, went to Canton last friday, met Leroy Irvin #47, what a great guy! I can't say as much for Mr. Eric Dickerson. He wouldn't even talk to anyone unless they bought one of his little #29 jerseys in a frame with his autograph for $150 bucks. What a jerk! Me and my kids got our pictures with Leroy and his autograph just because we were Ram fans.
My question is has anyone else ever had any dealings with Dickerson?

:r Go Rams!!!

Re: Still all about the money for Eric Dickerson

I guess it might depend on there mood,I have met ED and he was very cool, but I have also heard just the opposite also, I went to a show in New Jersey a few years back to get Faulks auto and he charged $265 for a 16x20 photo and he never even looked up from the table, for anyone even the little kids,so I guess he was a jerk that day but I have read in his defense that he is getting better at recent shows.my deal with this is if you don't want to sign and say hello to people maybe even shake a few hands of your fans than don't do the shows,do private signings, either way you will get your money, which is what they all want.

Yeah, I wouldn't doubt you caught him in a bad mood. I don't think I've heard of him being a jerk.

He shop's at Albertson's in Calabasas, where I live. I haven't ever approached him when I've seen him there, but I've kinda wanted to say something....

Which reminds me, a friend of mine got married about a month ago (one of those 7/7/07 weddings) and Brian Young was there, our former DT. My friends wife apparently has known him for some time. So I went up an introduced myself. We talked a little bit. He said that he is in his contract year and would like to get back to the Rams, if possible, next season. He said Haslett was his coach the first 2 years he was in NO, so he has that connection. I told him it's been a revolving door at DT since he left.

Big guy, and I've never seen him in person before, but he had his tattoos on his shoulder/arm coming out of his short sleave shirt which definitely were a signature that stood out on the playing field.

I had the same experience with Faulk. He saw me coming up and said the same thing. This happened in San Francisco. First the disappointment with him then the Rams got lit up by the Whiners and Whiner fans rode me all the way out.

I don't like watching NFL Network when he is on.

Re: Still all about the money for Eric Dickerson

Here's the thing fellas a lot of these guys don't sign autograghs because they don't want people making money of them for say fake memorbelia stuff, cuase what some fake non fan will do is take it reduplicate the sig and make money off it. I myself use to work with Eric D, a lot when he tried his bit into the music industry, as a publisher. He signed writers, and he signed this writer I worked with a lot.

My dealings wit Eric was always cool, We went out to lunch few times, and he stuck me with the bill, LOL. And it wasn't a cheap meal.

I think some of you fans expect too much out of Celebs. That's who I deal with most in my line of business and it's crazy. real crazy. I used to be a producer for a really famous songwriter/Producer. At that time he was the one of the most recognizable people in the music industry. When I would go on trips with his family, and we would go out to eat. People would come up constantly come up and expect him to take a picture and sign an autograph. I would have to say so he wouldn't come off as a jerk, Let him eat in peace, he's not signing autographs right now he's spending time with family. It's like that constantly.

So I think some of fans should give athletes a break, and stop coming onto forums saying they are jerks just cause they don't wanna sign an autograph. Take consideration that they might have just come from somewhere where they signed a lot of autographs, or the fact that if they sign for you they have to sign for everybody else who might show up when they see you getting an autograph. Also how do you know if the money wasn't for ED Charity. Thats the one time of the year he knows Fans are going to buy is stuff, I'd being doing the same thing in his position.

150 time couple thousand people who might be Rams Fans is 30,000 dollars fellas.

Ease up.

if you just go up to a celebrity and ask and they say no thats fine, you should respect there privacy, but when they are being paid a nice sum of money to sign autos then they should show the same respect they want and acknowledge the person paying for that autograph, people tend to go overboard at shows and ask for pictures and other crap that just holds up the line, but when you pay $260.00 for an autograph and you say "hi Marshall how are you" you deserve to have the person at least look up at you.the respect factor works both ways.

And my question to you is, did you ever think that maybe that was the reason he was there in the first place? Doesn't make him a jerk because he didn't talk to you.
