strong game for incognito

i thought richie the I played an excellent game yesterday. He did a much, much better job against the goliath nose tackle than the all pro center from the steelers did. Maybe he had a lot of help, i couldnt tell, but with the exception of the one bull rush where bulger made the sensational throw with the nose tackle in his face, i thought that richie more than held his own all game long.

Richie at center is a piece to the puzzle. We need guards! I like steussie for depth, but i think we need a better guy as a starter at that spot.

ramming speed to all

TheTackle52 - is sitting in the middle of the road
Re: strong game for incognito

I heard the commentators saying that the defense can read him when he moves his head from side to side before he snaps the ball. But his overall performance this year has impressed me.

GC, with McCollum in limbo right now, since we are not sure about recovery,do you leave incognito at center next season and go out and get a stud guard or plan on putting him back at guard and andy m at center and part 2 to the question,if both are 100% what do you do ?

Re: strong game for incognito

Yea I heard that too, they said that, when Incognito moves his head looking left to right and then snapping it is a big advantage for the Defensive Line and/or other blitzers because then know that when he looks back down he's going to snap it. And Merriman knew that, they showed him on a play (Merriman).

Re: strong game for incognito

A tell like that is easy to correct. In general I think he did a very good job holding up against the Chargers' NT, Jamal Williams. I noticed a number of plays where Richie was handling him one-on-one.

Re: strong game for incognito

I noticed he was pretty pronounced in doing that....he should have tried to fake it a few times to get called for encroachment or something....that's another thing I noticed yesterday, not a lot of penalties...

Re: strong game for incognito

I'm wondering if it had something to do with handling crowd noise to avoid false starts.
