Take Bulger Out Now!!
With it now revealed that Bulger has a couple of broken ribs, the OLine completely decimated by injuries, the loss of Jackson... Take Bulger out. Not because of his past play - but for his future.
Don't take a chance with his health. Remove him until it is safe for him to go back in -- after the ribs have healed and hopefully the line will be settled by then. This is a good excuse to set him aside and secure his future with the Rams.
Otherwise, they are setting him up for a much worse injury that could do some permanent damage.

Re: Take Bulger Out Now!!
Great post, SC. At this point it makes no sense whatsoever to subject Mr. Bulger to more abuse. For what? This season is essentially in the crapper and we'll need a healthy Mark for next year. Sigh! I really hated to have to submit such a negative post, but such is life.
WHAT SAY YE?

Re: Take Bulger Out Now!!
I can see the reasoning. Perhaps Gus can guide us to the Super Bowl!

Whew, for a minute their I thought I was going to have to run to the defense of my boy Marc. But I must admit you ideas not half bad. We should have Brown back next week and more importantly hopefully Cog's.

Well Gus is a bit bigger and can take a hit. Yeah, Gus should take one for the team and get his head knocked off!!!
I stopped going to the dentist.......I got tired of the cavity searches!

Re: Take Bulger Out Now!!
Is Frerotte a little more mobile than Bulger or about the same? Just curious.
SC, yes, I too agree. Time to have Gus earn his paycheck and put all his extensive experience to work this week and next. Maybe up untill the bye week. Might as well. That takes pressure off MB and allows him to fully heal.

Re: Take Bulger Out Now!!
And if Ferotte gets injured we still have Hagans and Bennett. What do we have to lose?

Re: Take Bulger Out Now!!
No!
The best players will play. If he's healthy enought to play and give us a fighting chance, then he should play.
All this talk about a 'week off' is garbage.

Re: Take Bulger Out Now!!
It will be a tough call, BBQ. I see your point of Bulger being in there to play our best football -- but that is precisely the 'thing': is he healthy enough?
Not just to play of course, but to be able to play effectively.
I realize many, or better said, most, players, QB or otherwise, play hurt most of the season. They are not only tough enough but responsible enough to try and fulfill the needs of the team and that usually involves playing with pain. It's the nature of the game. Especially in the professional arenas.
Our very own Jack Youngblood will forever be the prime example of this feat. The real remarkable heroism here is that he did not play with a broken leg out of selfishness or ego, but to help the Rams defense win.
With QBs however, some of these ribs situations are practically producing a dysfunctional player. Accuracy, speed, etc., are affected. Especially now when we need to generate scoring drives.
Again, I admit it can be done to a certain extent but "in light of the circumstances" as they say, I would think that Frerotte is in a better, stronger position to fill the need and thus be the QB for now, maybe even for a couple of weeks. I haven't seen him play that much but I believe Gus is quite reliable.

Re: Take Bulger Out Now!!
I'm no doctor, but don't you think that playing Bulger with these injuries is just asking for him to get hurt worse and possibly put him out for longer than we can imagine? Maybe the ribs that are broken can't get any worse.. But this sounds like a time to heal the boy.
Besides, Bulger doesn't look well enough to play if you look at the Tampa game. It all makes sense in 20/20 hindsight. He just looked "off", probably because he was wincing every time he took a step.

Re: Take Bulger Out Now!!
Come on guys. The NFC West is weak and the Rams can still sneak in by winning division games.
Sitting Bulger is basically saying that the season is completely lost. Bulger is tough, he can handle himself.
Remember, YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!!

Re: Take Bulger Out Now!!
Yeah, but part of the point is that Bulger is not playing 100%. Maybe he isn't our best choice right now. If he is nervous, jumpy, and inaccurate because he is worried about getting creamed even more with an already sore set of ribs, he isn't our best option.
That's how he looked on Sunday.
